We were very happy with the final product.  The finished colors completely covered the prior light colors. There were no unpainted spots near the trim and no paint spots on the trim.  They were very careful to cover the furniture and flooring so there were no paint spots even though they were painting the entire ceiling. The painters arrived promptly on the days scheduled, began painting right away and finished on schedule.  They were friendly and professional. We have used them many times over the years and do not hesitate to recommend them.

Ambrick's crew did a great job and showed impeccable attention to detail.  They were prompt and communicative in getting us our initial quote, and then very responsive as the job got started.  There were a few days when the guys would get called off to another job site to finish work there, but we were notified of this and they came in on weekends (with our approval) to make up the time. There would be days when I would notice small things seemingly unfinished only to find the painter(s) completely taking care of them (extra coats, hardware being re-attached, etc.) the next day.  In a word I learned: let the professionals do their job! :)  They handled quoting and completing some additional work quickly and completely, and we are very happy with the result.  We will be hiring them again for some exterior work next spring when our budget allows.

Initially, they missed some spots when they were doing it. They came back after awhile to correct that, and within the warranty period, it started peeling again. I contacted them last winter, and they told me they couldn't do it in the winter. They told me they'd do it in spring, then summer, and never came out. I called them several times, and they've never come out to fix it. He's a very good talker, so I requested something in writing from him to confirm the work would be done.
Response from Ambrick Painting Co Inc
"In response to [member name removed] comments, it is true that the stain applied to the deck was peeling in a few spots. This was due in large part to the moisture and the location of the deck in relation to the sun. It is inadvisable to perform any kind of exterior work in the winter. Our painter did attempt to come out a few times the next year in order to repair the peeling. In each case, the moisture conditions prevented us from being able to successfully handle the problem. The painter that did the job and make the unsuccessful service calls no longer works for our company. We apologize to [member name removed] for the inconvenience and for falling short in this matter and would be more than happy to either repair and restain the deck or do other paint work up to the amount of the original job ($550.00) at no charge."

Very punctual, excellent job. When they left there was no mess whatsoever, the house was ready to move into. Everything was magnificent. I had some wallpaper put in one bathroom and that was done beautifully. They were very professional.

I called Ambrick Painting to paint the interior of a vacant apartment that my husband and I were trying to ready for a new tenant to move in. We had to have the work done relatively quickly. They sent a painter over within a week's time and he did a beautiful job. The work was done quickly and professionally. He cleaned up after himself and was very polite. I found out that he was the vice-president of the company and the owner's son. He came to do the painting himself because he knew that we were in a hurry to get the job done. I have since called them back to paint another apartment and also a small room at my home.

Very nice, professional, and accommodating until contract was signed and deposit was paid. After that, drywall work was very good, but the wood finishing was a total disaster. Owners do not seem to know this business beyond the most basic level. Warning to all to be very cautious using this company for wood finishing. I paid $600 for the drywall portion of the job. That price seemed fair and the job was well done. I settled on paying $150 for the staining job, after they completely ruined $500 worth of new oak carpentry. Problems included wrong stain color and wrong type of stain. One error after another. It quickly became clear that this company was trying to cut its losses on their own errors at my expense. In addition to ruining the wood, they set my remodeling schedule back by about four weeks while they were screwing around, lamely trying to fix the damage they caused. Although they came back to strip the wood for a second time, I must still either bleach it or replace it.

OWNER'S BROTHER TOM DID MOST OF OUR PAINTING, AND HIS QUALITY IS OUTSTANDING. WE HAD 5 DIFFERENT COLORS, AND MANY LINES THAT NEEDED TO BE PAINTED PERFECTLY. THE OWNERS BILL SR AND JR WERE BOTH INVOLVED IN GETTING MY QUOTE- THEY WERE THE BEST OF 4 OTHERS I CHECKED AS WELL. ALSO THEIR PRICING IS BY THE SQUARE FOOT, SO I KNOW THEY HUSTLED AND THE PRICE WAS FAIR AND CONSISTENT. YOU PAY A BIT EXTRA FOR EACH ADDITIONAL COLOR (BECAUSE OF ALL THE EXTRA PREP AND TIME CUTTING IN) THEY ALSO DID SOME DRYWALL REPAIR ON ONE CEILING BEFORE PAINTING AND THAT WAS PERFECT. WILL USE AGAIN.
