I worked with them for many years until we got a new furnace that they couldn't work on. They increased their prices every year. Even though there was inflation, I'd appreciate if they made it static or something that can work for people. The quality of work was good but I'd like to leave room for improvement.

I am a new big fan of Air Comfort Systems.  I called them at the advice of the previous owners of my home which I purchased a year ago.  My 20 year old furnace stopped working abruptly and I called several places but found the responsiveness from this company to be the best.  I called on a Sunday morning and got a call back within 20 minutes.  After discussing options (urgent visit on a Sunday for ~$250 vs weekday visit for ~$118) I opted to wait until Monday.  THEY called ME 7:45 on Monday morning and were able to get me an appointment that same evening, conveniently after work so I didn't have to take off.  Ray came out, did a quick assessment and diagnosed a faulty Glowbar.  He had it replaced promptly, was courteous and kind.  I will definitely be using this business for routine maintenance in the future.
Response from Air Comfort Systems
"Especially glad we could get you going on the weekend. Customers have such busy lives nowadays, and being able to service your equipment outside of normal business hours demonstrates to us that it's worthwhile making ourselves available at unexpected times."

Air Comfort is my favorite contractor. They use an extensive list to check our unit. We bought our last 2 units from them. We can depend on them. Once our AC went out and they know I have asthma so I went to the top of the list to be serviced. They are very reliable. We have had several different service techs and their is consistency in all of them. They are all trained well, clean and courteous. They are very careful in my home. I have even had them come when I was not home. They are very trustworthy.

I called early in the morning. The repairman was at my house by lunchtime. He checked out the furnace, figured out what was wrong, and fixed it. He had to call for a part, and his boss brought it out right away. He was friendly and professional. He also showed me how to clean the filters in our erv. The estimate he gave me on the parts and work matched what I ended up paying.

I got three bids for the job, and Air Comfort Systems was the best, 1/2 the most expensive bid. I don't always take the cheapest bid, but they also installed my furnace and air conditioner years ago, so I knew their work. They were very responsive, fitting the job into my break from work, checking out issues with my local permit agency. I was very pleased with the work and the clean-up.

They were prompt and did a good job. The sales man at the store was adimant about the size of furnace I should get. He was set in that I didn't need a larger furnace. The workmanship and quality were fine.

They give you value for your dollar. They?re always courteous and on time, and if they can?t be on time, they will let you know. I have had the same service man come out three years in a row; he was learning in the first year and he is good now.

Very prompt coming for estimate. Explained options well. Didn't push for extra services. Once decided to go with them, scheduled work very quickly (within 2 weeks). Installer was right on time and completed work on time. Excellent job.

The evaulation of our furnance went fine - excet that I learned later that they charge $30 to $40 more for this service than other HVAC companies. But at the end of the service call, the technician said he had identified a problem with the ignition system for the funance, although he didn't know what the problem was. He had to call his manager who informed him that the "gas control" was failing and that it would cost $700 to replace the part. He also urged us to get a new furnance because, due to the age of the furnance, parts were hard to obtain or may not be available. Fortunately, I called and got prices from other companies and discovered other companies were quoting a much lower price on the gas controller. We had Nimmer Heating and Air Conditioning come in. The Nimmer technician determined that the problem was not the gas controller but the spark module (the circuit board that controls the ignitition in the furnance). Nimmer replaced the part for a total charge of $320. Nimmer did not recommend replacing the furnace.

The reps. from ACS are very professional and competent. I completely trust their judgment when it comes to the diagnosis of problems as well as suggestions for maintenance. Quite honestly, after having them work on our HVAC system for the past 5 years, I will not go to another company.

Our furnace did not start with the first cold snap of 2007. An Air Comfort Systems service man came out on a Saturday to diagnose the problem. He was very familiar with our Lennox furnace and he quickly determined that the purge blower motor was stuck. He was able to get it rotating again after manually turning the rotor. He said that we might get by with it for a while, but he suggested that we replace it. He quoted a price of over $300 for this. This seemed rather high, but we opted to replace it to avoid future problems. In 2008, water from the heavy spring rains got into our furnace's intake chamber where this same purge blower is located. I called a different heating service company (A-graded) and they quoted a $75.46 for this part and a $79/hour labor rate.

The repair was timely, prompt and effective. But, I've been bothered about the price of the inducer assembly ever since the replacement. Several phone calls confirmed that the amount I paid for the assembly was way too steep - nearly a quarter of the cost and installation of the entire furnace itself when I bought it from Air Comfort only ten years ago. We wrote to Air Comfort complaining about the price of their part and resigned from their maintenance program. They promptly refunded our subscription payment and did not charge us to recoup the 10% discounted service call charge which the maintenance subscription had provided. Neither did they offer any explanation.

A DIFFERENT COMPANY SAID THE COST WOULD BE $374 PLUS ANOTHER $200 FOR THE SERVICE CALL AND TIME! THEY WANTED ME TO REPLACE THE WHOLE BOX. LUCKILY I CALLED AIR COMFORT. THEY HAD THE GRIDS AND PADS AVAILABLE INDIVIDUALLY (RATHER THAN REPLACING THE WHOLE BOX). WHEN THEIR TECHNICIAN, STEVE, WHO WAS VERY NICE, CAME OUT HE DID SO MUCH MORE THAN I WOULD HAVE EVER EXPECTED AND FOR HALF THE COST OF A COMPETITOR. IT WAS ONE OF THE BEST SERVICE EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER HAD. NOT ONLY WAS HE RESPECTFUL OF MY PROPERTY BUT HE OFFERED A SERVICE AGREEMENT. I GOT THE FEELING THEY WERE MORE INTERESTED IN MAINTAINING THE EQUIPMENT TO PROVIDE BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE.

PROVIDED HIGHER EFFICIENT AND MORE RELIABLE UNITS COUPLED WITH PERSONAL OPINIONS EXPERIENCE. I DETERMINED THAT TECHNICAL SPECS MORE CLOSELY MATCHED MY NEEDS THEN COMPETITORS, IE.. THEY DID NOT OVER SPECIFY AND REFUTED COMPETITORS SPECS AND OPINIONS.
