(The work date is approximate.) Essentially, they performed the work for the price they quoted. HOWEVER, our discontent results from the way the work was performed; that is we are unhappy because of the manner of timing and the garbage and pieces of curb and sidewalk in the dirt they brought and the way they tossed sod clods and whatnot into the bushes on the property line we share with a neighbor. When speaking with the owner during the assessment/estimate, he did out-loud-thinking to wit, "In order to do this right I need to use a straw blanket, but we won't have those in for two weeks." Note: Due to his saying so, and as he failed to used a straw blanket, it is inarguable, by the rules of logic, that Advance Landscape DID NOT DO THE PROJECT RIGHT. The owner saying that they would not have the straw blanket for two weeks resulted in my reasonably understanding that the work would not begin for, oh, about, say, two weeks. This was good because I agreed, at his suggestion, to a more expansive/expensive project than I had originally intended and had called for him to estimate, so I needed to discuss it with my wife so we could make sure we were in agreement on the new, more expensive project recommended by Advance Landscape. During our discussion we determined that we wanted to go back to the original plan and I intended, later that day, when, presumably, I would be less likely to interrupt the day's business, to call Advance Landscape and let them know of my intention to cancel the more expansive project in favor of my original, much more modest intent. Well that very day, (when I was going to call later), when nobody was looking, they came and did the work. First they brought dirt out of which I picked some curb, some sidewalk and some garbage, yes, I mean plastic bag garbage and plastic strapping garbage. I was a bit concerned that this pile of dirt was going to sit in my yard for about two weeks (and, in hindsight, wish that it had as that would have allowed me time to call and make the change I wanted to make). The whole of the greater project involved tearing up a section of my yard which they had done before I even realized that the work had started, nearly two weeks earlier than Advance Landscape said it would. As for the finishing of the project, I must presume that they used at least two different grass seed mixtures, as some of the area seems to have been sown with what is presumably about a 20/80 mix of weed seed to grass seed and other portions a mixture of about 40/60 weed seed to grass seed. One other, maybe "less important, courtesy-thing" we'd mention is how the man doing the work left our hose on after spraying the weed/grass seed mixture before leaving, not to mention his not rolling the hose back onto the reel from which he retrieved it. Also, I'm not a professional so can't be certain, but it seems that the grade they left us with could have been more conducive to the needs of a residential yard than it is. Oh, how I wish I had checked the Better Business Bureau rating of Advance Landscape (F) before I started. (Disclosure: I went to grade school and high school with the owner, who did the estimate, but we did not pal around though we knew each other and I had no reason to dislike him. Additionally, I was offered a $50 "courtesy credit," presumably because the owner knows I am unhappy with their performance, but, as I was out several hundred dollars more, (I would reasonably presume), than I would have been if I had been allowed to change the project as I desired, I rejected the credit because I am convinced to this day that the owner does not understand my discontent and has no desire to.)
I purchased topsoil for my garden and it produced 100% weeds. Owner Frank Kleczka knew of the problem. I was told by one of his employee that Frank knew of the problem and he was just trying to get rid of it. When I called Frank I explained the my situation and told me he was busy and he would call me back. He never did.
I called him several times and he would not return my calls or would hang up on me when I got through.
Please reviews on other sites. The good reviews on these sites are bogus. Everyone knows businesses inject good reviews to boost their scores!!!!!!!!!!!!

He gave me a 2 day window. The crew came on the second of the scheduled dates and completed the job in a few hours. They did an excellent job grading the property and cleaning up after themselves.
The job was done exactly how it had been explained to me and when the fencing contractor came back a few days later to stake the property, he even commented on what a good job the landscaping company had done.
A week after the job was completed, I received the invoice for the amount we had agreed on.
I should also mention that when you call Advance Landscaping you actually speak to a live person who will help you.
I will use them again for any future landscaping needs and have no reservation recommending them to family and friends.
