5Star Construction and Renovation Services L.L.C.

The job went very poorly.  They broke the contract several times by not completing the work in a week, it took 2 1/2 months and by brow beating me into paying ahead of time which was not what was agreed upon in the contract.  They also charged me for a garbage bin but did not provide one.  The roof  had major leaks and caused damage to my living space.  After they were done, I hired another roofing contractor to inspect my roof thinking there were just a few things that need attention.  The roof inspector told me to hire a lawyer that I needed a complete tear off and re shingled.  I called a lawyer and took  5 Star Construction to small claims court.  I won the judgement as Robert Key never showed up for the hearing.  I may never receive the money as I suspect he filed bankruptcy.  But I want to warn everyone if Robert Key or his brother and co-owner Homer Key ever start up another business, do not hire him for services.  His brother Homer also was prosecuted for felony charges due to his participation in siphoning money and contracts  from another city official for the Sherman park area for home improvement and roofing work  to 5 star construction.

The contractor told us it would take a week to do the job, it took 2 months and my roof still leaks.  The good things I have to say about the contractor is that they are persistent in coming back  to make things right and all their workers were very polite to me and respectful.
