Two months passed, he still did not finished the remaining work. No receipt. We tried to call him a few times and left him voicemail and text messages. No response. It is very frustrating. We feel being cheated. This is very unprofessional.
I cannot wait for Rob to start refinishing my kitchen countertops and cabinets because then I have another project already planned ot for him!
Day 1 - Robert and another guy dug the hole.
Day 2 - Starts to cut the hole in the foundation. After a few hours his rental saw breaks. Goes to get it replaced/fixed and comes back the next day.
Day 3 - Same thing as day two. Cuts for a few hours and it breaks. I understand that there isn't much anyone can do with this problems.
Day 4-6 - He hires someone from Dubuque to come cut the the hole with their saw. This is where problems start. The person cutting the hole for some reason doesnt want to follow the lines drawn out (unkown until after they left). Through these days there were times where the hole in the wall wasn't even covered up at the end of the day.
Day 7 - Finished up, the well itself is fine. The window and its seal are crooked. You can tell when you shut the window immediately. The top latch does not latch easy and when you close it, it does not line up with the frame even.
Once he finished he basically took the money and ran. Left the basement a mess. Left for me to sweep up. Left cans in the basement. Even left his dolley in my garage. I call and leave an email about the unevenness. He says no problem and will stop by in a few days. Well a week goes by with not update and I call and text every day with no response or answer. Finally, get a response and he stops out while I am at work. Puts two screws in for no reason and it still looks like crap. That is where it stands for now.
Always seemed to know what he was talking about and professional but his work shows the complete opposite. I would not recommend this guy to anybody for any sort of work.
"there are quite a few out and out lies in this review of me. first of all yes my rental saws broke and that was a situation out of my control. and yes i did hire a guy who said it would only take him a few hours to cut and he said he knew what he was doing and boy oh boy was he wrong i ended up kicking the guy off the job a fact that [member name removed] does not disclose. i only hired him because i couldnt get a saw in time to cut the hole and i needed to get it cut and not leave the home owner with a half done job until i could find the proper saw. yes he did a bad cut and i had to work with what i had. as far as leaving the hole open and not covered that is an out and out lie! i screwed plywood over the hole the first day because there was no chance of rain and that was sufficient the next day which was a sunday i had it completely tarped off and it rained like cats and dogs and no a drop of water entered his home. as far as me leaving a mess with cans which i have no idea what that is suppose to mean that is also not true i cleaned up just fine and i wish he would have told me i left my dolly there this is the first i have known of that. also when he contacted me with the issue i was in constant contact with him there may have been one day i didnt get back to him because i was so busy, but i did come out and fix the window, i had to move the lock down a little and now it functions perfectly, yes its a little crooked but, when i bid the job he told me to go as cheap as i could and as anyone knows cheap products are not the best products. its a cheap window as per his request but it works perfectly and serves the purpose that it was installed for. and after i came back and fixed he has not contacted me so i assumed everything was fine. i stand by my work a hundred percent and if [member name removed] would like to contact me and have me come look again i would be happy to do it. i think the rest of my reviews speak for themselves no one can make 100% of customers happy i do and always will stand by everything i do. i actually lost money on this project but i never tried to upcharge him or ask for more money i stand behind my price and my work"
Rob and his crew are great to work with. Very professional, very reasonable, very timely and they clean up after themselves better than any other contractors I have worked with. I have already referred them to friends and family members.
Can't wait to get started on my next project!
change this room from what it was to what it is now.The work was done in good time and I found Rob to be a very agreeable and pleasent man. He has grat ideas and does excellent work. I'm very pleased and will ask him again when I need work done. You should too!
We (home owners) went out and bought the fir tongue and groove flooring, which took a lot of time because 9 out of 10 boards we looked at were not usable, which meant we went to multiple stores. That alone saved us money since Raindance wasn’t spending their time doing that. By working with us and allowing us to do the painting, shop for the flooring, and whatever else we were able to do ourselves, we were able to save more money
Raindance installed the new substructure and the tongue and groove flooring, which we (home owners) later painted. They reinstalled the original railings that I scraped and painted. Rob with Raindance repaired our columns (instead of replacing them) and he custom made new bases for the columns, because the bases we wanted were not something we could order. His custom made bases are perfect, and very well made. Raindance also custom made the skirting to our specifications, to go around below the porch. We have a limestone foundation, so the skirting boards went flush up to the wall, and they added several nice touches, such as cut outs to go around the limestone bulges, and screws so we could remove the skirting easily if we need to get underneath.
Rob, the owner of Raindance Remodeling, was easy to work with and altogether was an enjoyable person to have around. The work was done in a timely manner. We are very happy with the quality of the work and the price we paid. Best of all, the front porch looks great.
No front yard mess! That was my biggest concern. No complaints
Rob was very punctual and finished ll work when he said he would. He was very clean and respected my home and family. I have used Rob for MANY projects since 2000 in our fromer home and now in this home that we have been in for 5 years now. He has done everything for us from Window installation, siding, gutters, built a deck and drywall repairs.
Its great to have a person you can trust and go to for all things :)"I performed exactly what was contracted, and as the customer said I did a good job matching up siding with new aluminum siding, there is really NO cheap way to do that, I used all quality materials that I had to buy at the expensive local lumber yard because he did not want me to use menards because of the whole gov. Walker thing. I started and completed the job within one week so i am not sure why he said it took months, he paid me right away and even delivered a check to my house personally, so i am not sure why he would pay me if he was not satisfied. As far as the end gable piece is concerned that was a freebie that was not in contract, that I said I would get to when I had a chance, I needed a certain kind of coil stock and was waiting until I had some on hand since there was no charge for that. I am always here for my customers and I, never had any complaints from the customer I would have resolved any and all issues had he called, instead of writing a bad review."
They did an awesome job in our bathroom, it is beautiful.
Rob is very patient, we changed our mind and second guessed ourselves a few different times before they started, he was very professional. He listened to our ideas and made the bathroom look like what we invisioned, even the dark purple walls. We had a custom built medicine cabinet, he was able to modify the medicine cabinet so that we could put a mirror in it. Then he took what he had cut out and fashioned the door for the towel storage access. He even added crown molding,a very nice touch. He communicated throughout the project with us.
Rob has been a great contractor for me, I mentioned who I was using to someone else and they also had a great experience with him. When he left, he took all the trash with him, the site was clean and the men he had working with him were courteous and well mannered the entire time.
I will be call Rob again.
