Called last winter, came out promptly. Sent proposal signed and sent back. I called in mid June, they got me scheduled. Job done, place was clean.

I have a split level home with cathedral ceilings, and a crawl space under part of the home. They had to take off the soffits from the outside to blow in insulation, and used spray on foam in the crawl space. They were extremely efficient, covering floors with plastic. When cleaning up they actually used tape to clean my carpeted steps. (The steps were cleaner when they left than when they arrived). I am enjoying the house remaining cooler in the warm weather and look forward to a less draftier house in the winter in addition to lower heating costs. We had some issues with scheduling as there was a subcontractor involved. The price was more than usual due to the structure of the home. However, I am more than pleased with the job that was done.

Rainbow was actually sub-contracted by my friend/contractor Rick who was making many improvements to my house after an energy star home evaluation. Rick said they did a good job and he couldn't do it any cheaper than they could. He was right. The 2 guys they sent were in and out less than a day and the job looked great. I had my follow-up home evaluation this week and Laura said there were no drafts coming in through the attic like before. The work has actually been done for a year now and my energy bills have dropped significantly (due to all the work done, not just Rainbow's insulation job).

The workers were friendly and punctual, and happy to touch up gaps in insulation coverage when requested to do so. The job was done quickly and efficiently, and was of adequate quality. Some supervision was required but all requests for touchups were completed happily while all the equipment was still there. Also, thicker than quoted for foamboard was used for some of the kneewall attic at no extra charge. On the downside, the effectiveness of the insulation in the cellulose blown attic was a bit variable after the job was done, and I was unable to get a response to emails to explain and perhaps remedy this. Also, minor damage occurred to furniture, floors and trim from the spray foam in spite of lots of plastic covers being used. The drywall work that was done by a separate contractor recommended by Tim was great, but the subsequent painting job by the same company (not on Angie's List) was substandard. I would recommend finding a good painting contractor on the List instead, if needed.
