It is a 65-year-old house and some things had been upgraded, but a lot of these things needed to be worked on and he did good work. He was prompt, very efficient, and thorough.

Not very well. The quote was to re-wire all the overhead lights and 25% of the outlets. Turns out the outlets weren't on knob and tube and if we had let them finish their work, I would guess the cost of the project would have been equal to or exceeded the quote even though a chunk of the work wouldn't have to be done. The original quote was for $7500. We were charged 6 hours one day for 3 guys to 'buy supplies and travel time'. At $65 per hour, that is a whopping $390 for nothing actually done in the house. They didn't show up 2 days and I had to call to find out where they were and if they were coming or not. The house did have a lot of construction going on but I would say they only cleaned up 50% of their garbage left behind. A big disappointment overall. The wiring work they did do seems to be fine.

"THE SIGNED ESTIMATE #1828 WAS FOR REWIRING APPROX. 45 KNOB & TUBE OPENINGS (SWITCHES, LIGHTS, AND OUTLETS) AND ENERGIZING CIRCUITS. IT ALSO INCLUDED THE PERMIT AND INSPECTION. THE APPROXIMATE COST OF THE ROUGH ESTIMATE WAS $7500. THE TOTAL PAID BY THE CUSTOMER WAS JUST OVER $6100. KNOB & TUBE REWIRES ARE ALWAYS "ROUGH ESTIMATES" ONLY AND BILLED AS TIME AND MATERIAL DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE JOB. WE NEVER SEND MULTIPLE EMPLOYEES TO PURCHASE MATERIALS. THE CUSTOMERS WERE BILLED FOR THE TRAVEL TIME (PER MAN) TO THEIR RESIDENCE AND FOR THE TIME SPENT ON THE JOB. THE DATE TO BEGIN THE JOB WAS SET BUT THERE WAS NO PRE-ARRANGED ARRIVAL OR DEPARTURE TIME. CUSTOMER WAS NOT ON SITE DURING ALL WORK HOURS. WE ALWAYS CLEAN UP WHATEVER MESS WE MAKE. WE HAVE A REPUTATION FOR BEING NEAT AND CLEANING UP. THERE WAS OTHER CONSTRUCTION AT THE SAME TIME AND WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR OTHER TRADES CLEAN-UP. WE ARE KNOWN FOR OUR QUALITY WORK AND PROFESSIONALISM. THE CUSTOMER DESIRED TO COMPLETE THE FINISH WORK THEMSELVES, SO WE PROVIDED THEM WITH A LIABILITY DISCLAIMER AS WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ELECTRICAL WORK THEY WOULD COMPLETE. WE WERE SURPRISED BY THEIR COMMENTS ESPECIALLY WHEN THE COST OF OUR WORK CAME IN AT ALMOST $1,000 UNDER OUR ROUGH ESTIMATE AND OUR WORK PASSED ELECTRICAL INSPECTION WITH NO PROBLEMS.
