They did a great job. Robert, the owner and lead guy, was very responsive to our needs. He was terrific to work with and kept on schedule and within the budget. He is great guy!

We recently purchased a home that needed (needs!) updating. We got bids from two contractors to do a handful of things. Robert Nelson with Heartwood Construction was more responsive and his bid was more competitive, so we chose him. He had a lot of good ideas, too, about how best to add the closet and insulation. We found Heartwood from a search on Angie's List. Their work lived up to their reputation. They were extremely professional and easy to work with. Our house was pretty torn up for a month, but they always cleaned up as best they could and were respectful of our schedules and lives. The foreman, Geoff, who we interacted with the most, was just very kind and considerate, checking in with us to make sure things were going ok. He always checked to make sure the work was done right. In fact, there was an additional project that we had done by a different company, and we later regretted not hiring Robert and his crew to do that work, too. Of course, when we started tackling all these projects, even though we knew Heartwood got great reviews, we didn't really KNOW. It's kind of a leap of faith. But now we know, and we would absolutely use them in the future (I should say, WILL). And you should, too! We've worked with a number of different people and companies so far and the various projects we've done, and these folks are absolutely at the top. We just really trusted them, which is all you can ask. The work they did was great (no corners cut), the price was completely fair and what we expected, and they were easy to work with. The best we can say for a recommendation is that when we are ready to tackle additional projects in our house, we will call these guys.

This is the fourth job heartwood has performed for us, and them have all been excellent. On time, at budget, well done.

Received a favorable bid. The installation was beautifully and precisely done. Everything was kept neat and clean, as the room was already carpeted. Cleanup was thorough, too. Excellent job.

The owner of Heartwood Construction was very meticulous with the work. The owner has earned a number of awards for their work. My understanding of this contractor is that he was on his own but now he is actually expanding so his business must be doing well. The quality of the work was good and he was professional. If I need a contractor again I would use them.

Mr. Robert, from Heartwood Construction, is very competent, and his calm demeanor is assuring. His carpenter was very respectful of my time and my home, and seemed to enjoy his work. Mr. Robert responded to the material supplier's error with a swift confidence.

Heartwood Construction, i.e. Robert, has been absolutely terrific to work with. He was organized, reliable, available and helpful. He worked with me on problem solving numerous issues over the course of the planning and execution. His crew were skilled, pleasant, considerate and reliable and sub-contractors were generally excellent - and when not Robert dealt with issues promptly. He maintained high standards for the work throughout and often caught minor mistakes before I did and had them corrected. He was always available to discuss my concerns, and made sure the workers were careful of the house and cleaned up any messes. He is also respectful and attentive to environmental concerns. He was creative in solving problems and his experience with older homes and their issues was very valuable. His ability to maintain an orderly and timely work flow with such a multi-faceted project was truly impressive. All in all I would recommend Heartwood Construction wholeheartedly!

Robert provided an accurate estimate and started work as scheduled. He was careful to protect the finish of the cabinets as he installed them, and careful to protect the floors during work. The finished product was completed in a timely fashion, and was all that we expected.
