Really good service but suggest always asking the prices before the service.

Badly.  The stylist didn't seem to understand how to cut a basic, maybe old fashioned hair style.  Instead, she cut it way too short in spots and choppy in other spots.  I was so disappointed that after three tries, I never went back.  For the cost of this place, it's not worth the money.  You can get a better haircut and a more responsive stylist at one of the low cost drop in places.

Super. These people are pro's. have been coming to this salon way before they even moved to this location.

I think the quality of the cuts is high.  Kate is great and handles my straight hair well.  The place is very ritzy.  I would prefer a more plain environment and to pay less.  My main complaint is the price.

Aniu is a beautiful facility and conveniently located (those are the positives). Overall, I found it to be overpriced for the quality of the haircut. First time I went, the stylist (who is a and quot;level 5and quot; considered to be of higher experience) gave me a great style. She also blowed dried it and used a flat iron to finish; I loved it and thought I had found my new and quot;foreverand quot; salon in the Madison area. Subsequent visits (two of them) were a disappointment. I did not get the same quality cut / style, and she stopped finishing my hair (just put gel and said it would air dry). It was the same stylist / same higher level price tag. I decided never to return to Aniu again ... I'm now getting my hair cut at RZ and Company in Madison; lower stylist price and they do not accept tips. LOVE RZ and Company; Ciao Aniu!

This is a huge, beautiful place in an impressive building on the West side. I went expecting a special experience for a manicure and pedicure. The pedicure seating is not the big comfy lounge type chairs, but a long bench. This is uncomfortable if you are a short person and it doesn't feel private at all. The services were just so-so. I have had much better services elsewhere. The manicure table was dirty and the space was not attractive at all.
After I paid I asked the receptionist if I could have a tour of the facility. She replied in a very snotty way, and quot;for the privacy of our customers, we don't give toursand quot; What the heck! I had just paid so she knew I was a customer. This place is very high brow and they think alot of themselves. If you like a stuck-up atmosphere with high prices and so-so service, then go here.

Tena has been my hairdresser for the past 1+ years and she is the absolute best. She listens to what I want, and provides great recommendations when I ask her for them. She is a very pleasant, friendly person and I always enjoy going to see her. I have had some awful experiences with the front desk/management staff over the years (I have been going to Aniu since it was Salon 2000), but the service and skills of the actual hairdressers make it worth going back again and again.

When I made the appt I specifically asked for a different person to do the work then the person I always seemed to get. They said they could accommodate that. Then when I arrived and checked in I was informed that the 1 person I asked not to have was in fact going to be doing my appt. I informed them that that was not okay and I specifically asked not to have her when I made this appt. The check-in girl got the manager and the manager told me if I could wait a few extra minutes she had another person who could do my appt. So I happily waited. When that person retrieved me and took me to the room she then questioned what I was getting done. I said "bikini wax" and she said "Oh I thought this was for eyebrows. I don't have time to do bikini". Fine. She leaves me and tries to find someone else. Then she takes me to wait again. Luckily soon after another person comes to retrieve me and she does complete my appt. By this point I'm a bit head spinny trying not to get annoyed. So at check out I notice the price is a bit more than I usually pay. But I don't question it then because its chaos at the counter and they are also trying to shoot a commercial in the salon at the same time. When I arrive home later I call in and ask to speak with the manager. She's not around so I say her voice mail is fine. I leave a message saying that I had spoken with her earlier and what had happened and that my price seemed higher than normal. I asked her if that was a mistake or is that the price I should expect to pay for now on? Left my name and number and wasn't even upset on the call. Its been a week and NO ONE has returned my call. But of course the charge has gone through.

feet placed in warm sudsy water to soak, one foot at a time was dried and file was used to remove dry skin around heel area, foot was placed back into the warm sudsy water, cuticles were also cleaned up, nails were cut and filed and then polished with my choice of color. Feet were massaged with lotion, which was heavenly. I was only having polish on my fingernails(not a manicure), but care was taken to clean up nails prior to the polish. The polish was professionally applied, no smears or smudges left behind.

I called the salon at 11am to see if I could make an appt. Conveniently they could fit me in at 12:15! Had a little trouble finding it (its in a building with other offices) but the place was very clean and nice.. very salon. I only waited a few minutes before called back. Had a great talk with my stylist Lily about what I wanted and what I didn't (trim bangs on angle, chop of 5 inches but needs some "oomph"). Then she ran with it. VERY happy with my cut. Lily is currently a level 4 stylist. My cut was $45.

I just moved back to Madison. My co-worker recommended a particular hairdresser working here. I couldn't make an appointment with her. I got in with another one. Well, there was supposed to be a "consultation." The hairdresser I got was rude and impatient to begin with. I explained that I'd like to have a perm and I had the style before. She asked me what size and color of rolls did my previous hairdresser use for my perm. I told her I did not remember, but I do know the style I wanted and I could describe it for her. She rolled her eyes and touched my hair. Then she asked, "Why do you want a perm??!!" She asked in a way that's not really "consultative." Instead, she carried a strong undertone of insult such as: "you idiot!" I told her I was not comfortable with her and walked out. At the receptionist's desk, I mentioned my unpleasant experience. Neither did the hairdresser nor did the receptionist say "sorry." I have to say that the hairdresser is certainly the rudest and most unprofessional hairdresser I have ever met. I wasted two hours because I had to take a leave at work-this is what I mean when I say I have paid too much for interacting with such a rude and unprofessional person!

My experience during my time there was extremely relaxing with a very attentive staff. Their spa is secluded from their Salon area to prevent noise from interrupting. Going from one service to another, they offered a relaxing sitting area with water or tea, but my wait was not long at all so it seemed that they were really good with scheduling since my services involved multiple providers. The services themselves were very satisfying though I must say that without the discounts I received, I would not have spent their original asking price for the Siddah Herbal Escape or the Facial since they seemed high compared to other spas I have visited. Overall, I was very satisfied with the value for the price once you consider the discounts. Additionally, they went above and beyond as I wanted to go out afterwards but my hair and makeup were a mess. They did a complimentary touch up for my makeup and hair so that I looked presentable when I left. The makeup artist did a fabulous job and really focused on me even though the service she provided was free.

I haven't had a real, honest-to-goodness haircut in a while, so when my employer told me about this salon, I was skeptical, It looks great, and maybe I'm not the person to ask about this, but the price seems a bit high to me! They have different levels of hair specialists, as I think they call them there. The building looks intimidating, but the staff is friendly. I haven't gone for any of the other new, fangled services they provide, but I do know that I love the cut, style and shape of my hair for the first time in a long time!
