GREAT LAKES CARPENTRY INC

Randy Nielson, owner of Great Lakes Carpentry talks a good talk but don't believe one word. We were promised that his company does the job right, doesn't take shortcuts and will do anything to make it right for the customer. Not one word of that is true. We are so disappointed that someone who charged us 15,000.00 would not stand up and rectify the poor work done. We ended up with refurbished windows with no warranty from the Alpen company and Great Lakes Carpentry just wants to get rid of us and not make it right. His carpenters tried to sneak installation of the new slider door onto rotted wood frame. Luckily I was there at the right time and had to insist that they replace the bad boards with new boards. We have had to use several (30) tubes of calk and foam to be able to install finish trim. yea, real quality work they did :( Our next step is to hire a lawyer and sue for the entire 15.000.00 plus a settlement. All we wanted was new quality windows and doors. What we ended up with? A wasted summer trying to get Nielson to rectify the situation which still hasn't happened, and we ended up with refurbished windows and doors while paying full price for new. Randy Nielson is not a good person. Thank the heavens above for Karma and Attorneys. I have been holding off on hitting the submit button on this review, I don't like to speak badly of anyone but just now, the handle to the new sliding door just fell off and I wouldn't wish our experience on anyone!
