Dan was great!  For 15 years I've been running up and down the basement step to turn on and off the hot water heater - as I'm on time of use for electric.  Dan had some very good used one and a great low price.  He was very good.  Hope to use him down the road for any electrical service needs.

Don was super great to work with. We received his name on a recommendation and we will definitely use again and recommend to others. Very knowledgeable and helpful in selecting/suggestion lighting options. Was very cognizant of cost and always gave pros and cons for different solutions. Rate was more than reasonable. More than anything Don was trustworthy and dependable to show up when he said he would and did a great job.

Installed the switch for the radon fan. He did some other work as well to make the wiring up to code. He was kind enough to suggest things to make the wring up to code. He adjusted his scheduling to meet my schedule.

Don was on-time and friendly, even bright and early, as always! The work went quickly with no surprises. Even if there had been, we know Don is prepared. The chandelier went up without a hitch and the new dimmer switch is working wonderfully! Don had a discussion with us about the various types of light bulbs that are out there and gave us some really good information on that as well.

Don got right to work on the bathroom exhaust fan. It turns out that the fan is not vented anywhere but the attic, which is no longer recommended/allowed. He said he could not really go forward with the install, though he was willing to put the fan in and to connect a piece of 4-inch duct for us so that we could have a roofer come out to finish up with venting the fan out through the roof. We decided to shop around for roofers and to have Don return to install the fan after the roof vent has been installed.
Don also uncovered a few other things that weren't right. We were not able to replace the ceiling fan in the master bedroom due to the ceiling height being too low, so he capped this box for us very neatly. He was able to replace our kitchen ceiling fan with the new model we had chosen, although he discovered that there was no fan box in place there but rather a regular fixture box. He had to do some cutting around the hole, working in a plaster ceiling, in order to get the proper fan box in. He was very careful not to go too fast and cause damage or cracks in the ceiling. The new fan went up without a problem and looks wonderful!
Don also helped us trouble shoot/experiment with a and quot;mystery swtichand quot; and a light fixture that would not light up. Ultimately he diagnosed the mystery switch as being two 120v wires, and re-capped them recommending that they not be used. We are still not sure what those were about! He determined that the fixture that would not light was simply not connected to anything anymore, and rather than try to track down the wiring for that fixture, he said he could wire it to connect in with another group that does work upon a later visit.
We also discussed adding in a new switch and fixture for the basement stairwell on his next visit.

We had Don do a service upgrade a few months ago and we were extremely
pleased all around. After evaluating our household needs, he gave us
valuable feedback on on what type of service and equipment we should get . He's been
back twice since then, taking care of several small projects that we
needed done. He's always quick to call back, prompt for the appointment
and very reasonable with his pricing. He works very quickly and has
never left a mess. He's very personable and I will absolutely recommend
him to anyone.

Don came in for the quote for the area we were finishing in our basement, explained exactly what his plan was, and what it would take to do it. There was some old wiring in the basement that he recommended be removed in reinstalled with new in order to be up to code. Which he ended up doing for us. A couple of other electricians who had differing opinions on this, but Don's quote was competitive and it gave us all new.
While his price was competitive with other quotes, he seemed to be the most knowledgeable and forthright about what exactly was needed for the job.
The job was split into two portions, the rough install of the wiring which would later be concealed, which had to be verified by the city inspector, and then the finish, which entailed installing actual new ceiling lights, switches, and outlets to the newly finished walls. Don took care to check with the city inspector on a couple of questions before proceeding with work, in order to avoid any problems during the inspection.
His work came in exactly on budget and took the time he had estimated. He took time while he was here to explain what he thought about the wiring setup in the house as it was, and how he would change it, and what the codes exactly said and how his wiring would meet code.
All in all, no issues arose when the inspector came, and the job was professionally done on time and on budget. We'd definitely work with Don again.

Don was great - he was 10 minutes early, but no complaints on that part! He was very flexible in working with our home warranty company, invoicing separately for the work he did above and beyond what they were willing to cover. He spent the full two hours that he had agreed to spend, even though the main projects were finished in under that time. He used the extra time to help us go through our horribly mis-labeled panel to figure out what went where! This saved us some time that we would have had to take out of a weekend to do this ourselves, plus he was able to pull actual wires, not just flip switches, to figure out what truly belonged with what, and to re-assign some circuits that just didn't make sense where they were.

On top of it all, he was friendly, courteous, and our dog loved him! We will definitely hire him out again for our future electrical projects.

Don was called in to remove an old electrical outlet that had served a faux fireplace and to remove what I thought were three buried wall sconce fittings that had been filled with plaster. Turned out the "buried wall sconces" were really buried junction boxes that had been filled with plaster and were still live. While it turned out that he couldn't remove them without some major damage to the walls and a lot of additional cost, he did come up with a solution that enabled me to cover the junction boxes with out burying them in the wall. He spent two hours with me, trying to solve this problem.
