I had a very odd experience with Hearthside (a.k.a. Burning Desires). The guy came out to my house, spent nearly an hour taking measurements. A week went by, and no estimate. Another week, I called them and asked for the estimate. They said they were working on it. Didn't call me back. I tried a 3rd time a week later, and again, same story, no estimate, we'll get back to you. I found it very odd a company would visit a customer's house for a $2,000 project, then refuse to give them an estimate after repeated requests. I was completely going to hire them and have the work done asap. After the 3rd attempt to get an estimate, I called another company. They immediately got me an estimate, and 14 days later, my project was complete. In the end, my dealing with Hearthside was a giant waste of my time.

AFTER A VISIT TO THE STORE AND THEN AN ESTIMATE, COMPLETED IN OUR HOME, WE WERE CONFIDENT WE HAD A GOOD COMPANY. HOWEVER, OVER THE COURSE OF THE MONTH FOLLOWING THEIR VISIT WE WERE IN TOUCH WITH THEM 4 TIMES AND NEVER GOT AN ACTUAL ESTIMATE. EACH TIME IT WAS A NEW EXCUSE.

THE SALES STAFF WERE OKAY, BUT THERE WAS A LITTLE ISSUE WITH SCHEDULING THE WORK. THAT IS DONE AT A DIFFERENT LOCATION THAT CLOSES AT 4:00PM. THE INSTALLER WAS PROMPT, COURTEOUS AND VERY PROFESSIONAL.

THEY PROVIDED EXPERT ADVICE ON THE BEST MODEL FIREPLACE FOR OUR SPECIFIED NEEDS. WHEN A QUESTION AROSE DURING INSTALLATION, THEY WERE QUICK TO SCHEDULE AN INDEPENDENT ASSESSMENT TO DETERMINE IF THEIR WORK WAS UP TO STANDARD. THEY BENT OVER BACKWARDS TO WORK WITH THE PLUMBER TO ENSURE THE GAS WAS CONNECTED CORRECTLY.
