I won a free tune-up for my furnaces from Capital Heating, Cooling & Electric so I thought I would give them a try instead of my regular HVAC company. On October 2, 2024, the Capital service tech, Colin, came out to tune up my 2 furnaces. As part of his work, Colin measured the CO2 in the exhaust pipe and said both furnaces were at dangerous levels and should not be operated until both the primary and secondary heat exchangers were replaced in each plus the burner for one of the units. The quote from Capital to do the repairs on the furnaces exceeded $5700. Colin said the CO2 on one of the furnaces exceeded 400ppm. Colin tried to sell me on the repairs and I told them I planned to get another opinion. I found Colin to be arrogant, obnoxious and very pushy. Seemed like he was under pressure to get me to do the repairs. Had to ask him to leave multiple times before he finally left. On October 14, 2024 I had an independent HVAC company, one I had not used before, in for a second opinion on the furnaces. The independent HVAC company measured the CO2 in the exhaust pipe for each furnace and found that the furnace that Capital told me was over 400ppm was at 27ppm and the other furnace was under 5ppm; also pulled the burner on the one furnace and said it didn't need to be replaced. Additionally, the tech for the independent HVAC company told me as the original owner of the furnaces the heat exchangers should be covered under warranty, which I was able to confirm. Capital failed to mention the warranty for the heat exchangers as well. Given this experience, I will never trust Capital to do any work for me in the future.

Our Central Air stopped working, called a different company, they were unable to repair, and replacement was 2 weeks wait. Called Capital and they arrived within an hour, new Central Air installed within 2 hours. Amazing service! Quick to respond, polite and professional. I will recommend them to everyone!

I have been waiting on a refund of about 8K for over 12 days... 1 year ago they cleaning my vents and then damaged my door jam, I forgave them. I bought the service plan, not sure about the benefit, I have spent over 8 grand in service/products and some I didn't need but was told I needed. Then they told me, after they told my my systems were great, that I needed to expand my vents ~ costing me 11K which another 2 HVAC told me I did not need. At thet same visit over 3 weeks ago I was told again my systems were great, only to be told on Saturday my AC was in neerd of critical repair... after I questioned it the repair guy walked back his claim and said it was his mistake "everything is fine" and then tried to upsell another vent cleaning for over 1k. I have now canceled the unnecessary monthly membership and still trying to STILL get my $$ back for the deposit and dehumidifier that I neever needed!!! I may nee to go to small claims...

I was quoted $1, 380 before the discount for all of the work to be done. After the applied discount, the amount was $11, 400. However, the company sent a contract stating the price to be $15, 800 to do the work. My boyfriend signed the contract without reading it all the way through. When I looked at the contract, there was no discount applied. The company continues to insist that there was a discount applied even through the line shows $0.00 for discount applied. When I contacted the company, they insist that there is an applied discount. The employees came and did the work as scheduled without any problems initially. However, after they left, every time the central air works, we get a puddle in front of the furnace. I called the home warranty company and paid a $100 service fee for someone from a different company to come in and look at the cause of the puddle of water. The condensation pump wasn't installed correctly and is overflowing onto the floor. My boyfriend and I are going to have to use a hose and have the water go into a bucket instead of it going into the sink like it is suppose to. The company has offered to fix it but I'm not sure I want them to come and fix it especially since they didn't do the job correctly the first time and still want the rest of the money after the bait and switch over the price of the work. My boyfriend has no legal leg to stand on because he signed the contract but the dispute over the price difference continues. As far as fixing the condensation pump, I will most likely save the money and have a company do it where a former roommate knows the owner of the company and get the work done correctly. My boyfriend and I can continue to empty a bucket of water until then. After all, we live in Wisconsin and summer only really lasts for 2 months. If were lucky, we may get 3 months of summer. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone unless you want to get taken for ride.

I had Capital HC repair and do a tune-up on all 7 Reznors in our warehouse. Jon, the technician did a great job, that when the office furnace went out, I pushed my boss to go with them despite being having a higher quote (they came down, regardless). The install was a mess, technicians arrived late with no notice, they had to bring in a second furnace as the one they brought was dented. The (install) technicians left sheet metal screws everywhere, including the parking lot. The furnace did not work correctly after install and it took 4 visits from 5 different technicians to get the unit to work properly. It took several calls to get the install manager out to look at the job and discuss what had happened. Doug apologized but I got the sense that it was a token apology - not genuine. Again we had an issue with the furnace. I called Capital and requested Jon come out and look at the furnace. He was able to fix it right away - some setting in the thermostat was incorrect (during installation). We received our rebate from FoE and it is less than what was expected. I contacted the office, and since the estimator was no longer with the company, Ashley (office) asked I speak with Doug. Again, one week no response. I called 04/03 in the morning asking for a call back that day. No response. I finally got a hold of him on 04/04 and got no sense of cooperation. The office staff is customer service oriented but with the exception of Jon, no technician and the service manager are not at all concerned with customer satisfaction. Definitely not professional by any stretch of the word.

My old AC failed in the middle of July, Capital came out the week I called to take a look and we determined it made sense to go ahead and replace the system. They were very responsive to come out and give me a quote, and were able to schedule time the following week to install the new system. Everyone I dealt with was responsive and professional. I would definitely use them again.

Capital was very professional and thorough. Ended up being a no-brainer from a cost perspective. Approximately 50% more than buying an A/C unit from the store, but they included haul away, install, new condenser unit, new refrigerant, new refrigerant line, all new electrical all the way back to the breaker box, and a full warranty.
