They did a really good job. It was an insurance claim.

Contracted them in summer 2016 for a complete front yard re-landscape in Elm Grove. They changed architects after starting the project, and did not accurately complete many items discussed due to this transition. The project management, communication, and quality checks of work were the worst we have had from any vendor working on our home. We had to point out missed or less than adequate work. Even the re-work was not completed correctly, so we simply had them stop work. This was a $40K project, and we paid in full. We highly recommend looking elsewhere if you want quality work on larger projects.

The design was lovely.  However, now that we've lived with the project for three years, we can see that it probably was overplanted. We will need to move some plants to relieve crowding. The quality of the installation was just average.

However, our biggest disappointment has been with customer service.

Immediately following installation, we contacted American regarding the quality of some of the plants we received. Although they did agree to replace some, we ended up buying replacements for others ourselves.

As part of this project, black edging was installed. One area around our White Pine has heaved up. We noticed this last spring (2014) and it has only gotten worse. Since it's become such an eyesore, we called American to see if they would remedy the problem.

We were told that since it's Wisconsin we should expect this sort of a problem and that after three years they would not correct the issue. We have previously installed other landscapes in homes we've owned here in Wisconsin. When we sold our last home, the landscaping edging was ten years old and looked great--installed by Ewald, who unfortunately is retired from the landscaping business.

I believe the section of edging that has currently failed was poorly installed as the rest is holding up for the most part. I'm disappointed American would refuse to stand by their work. For us to bring in another company to make the repair will be a hassle and an extra expense. For American to correct this one issue would take, I would imagine, relatively little time and expense. They would have gained our appreciation and would have avoided this negative review.

The patio looks great.  I was out of town for the installation, but the American folks arrived the day promised, left no mess or damage.  While the patio was not cheap, the quality is worth the price.  Hopefully it looks just a good next summer.

They were good. The replacement was part of the contract and they honored it and came out to replace the dead bushes.  I had a positive follow-up with them when the bushes died and came out really quick.

They came in and quoted.  I gave them a budget and they stayed in the budget. There were couple of problems but overall they were good.  It was a three days project but it took four days but of course we had the hottest weather we could ever have in the state at the time they were doing it so I need to give some leeway there.  They had to do few things were they had to come back and fix.  I just have to walk them through as to what needs to be repaired, redone and adjusted.  They put real patio in and had the grill fixed and they didn’t put it in the exactly right place so my ring gutter is in the wrong side and goes right into the grill pad so they are going to come back and put a different extension.  They are still fixing the problem.  They have to come back and remove the mulch and the plant that they had put there and dig up the grass and put everything back.

I was able to work with the sales person over the phone to explain what I wanted. He visited my property, drew up a plan, and then met with me in person. I signed the contract and was given an estimated timeframe for when the work would be done. The work got done earlier than I expected, despite the stormy weather. I was impressed. I have only two nitpicky issues: When I called with a question, I didn't get a quick callback. And, although they sprayed weed killer, there are still quite a few weeds.

I used them about 3 weeks ago to remove a tree for me and they were professional and I was pleased. They were a little late but did a good job. I give them an A rating and will use them again in the future.

They have been great. I thought the price was reasonable. They seem very professional. They came out and got the estimate for me probably a week prior to the 25th of April. They measured my lawn. They walked around with me and took a look at everything that I was interested in having done. They went and measured everything. They seemed to be a professional business to me. I’m very pleased with the services that I have received so far. I would absolutely use their services again in the future.

They were very good about not damaging my yard. They carted everything away and cleaned up so that everything was left in pretty good shape. Their price was comparable to other companies.

They worked as efficiently as they could in the weather we had in the month of October. They were prompt and courteous about returning the phone calls. The work was done well. They cleaned up after themselves. They had to come another time to do the stump grinding because of the bad weather. The price was very good for the tree removal. Our neighbors in the condo just across the driveway also got their trees removed and they were happy with the service.

Two large limbs from an old Amur maple tree were blown down in a storm. The limbs were removed and the tree was pruned. They hauled away all the debris and cleaned up after the work was done. We were happy with the job especially since they were the only company of those I had called which could come in a timely manner.

They called diggers hotline prior to coming. They were prompt and fast. Both stumps were ground out in 30-45 minutes. They also ground out two other small stumps at no extra charge.

The two trees were removed promptly by a crew of three men. A full complement of two cherry-picker equipped trucks and front end loader were employed on this job. American Landscape obviously is very well equipped for large jobs such as this one. The sugar maple in front of our home was very challenging to remove for any tree company due to its size and closeness to the home. American Landscape did a good job of safely removing the tree, without damaging our home.

I received the estimate in the mail within 3 days of my original call. Upon deciding to have the work done, I was contacted within 24 hours for a date and was scheduled for that very week. Unfortunately, rain delayed the project 2 weeks, but we can't control mother nature. As soon as we had 3 days of no rain they were here and completed the job in 1 and 1/2 days. The cleaned up well, except for the stump grinding, however we were told prior to the job that those would not be removed. The team consisted of 4-5 men and they worked quickly and professionally to complete the job. In addition, they chipped some brush next to my house which I added on as an extra service.

They charge $2.00 an inch. They answered my call right away and came the following day. He also diagnosed some problems with trees across the street from me that I was concerned about. I really appreciated that. I used him two different times this summer for stump grinding.

Jay Schmidt and his crew were very polite by not laughing at me for crashing into the tree. It took a bit of convincing for them to take a look at it, I guess since this was the first request of this type. They were able to get it out with there boom-truck with no further damage done to the plane. They were on time, professional, and good to work with. Since these trees claim a few planes each year from our club, I wouldn t be surprised if they are called again (just hopefully not by me), however I would not hesitate to call them again!
