Service was exemplary.

The service tech arrived on time and was great.  He installed the new water softener and showed us how to use it.  He also noticed that the water pressure in the house was not what it should be and encouraged us to call the utility.  It turns out that the water was not turned on all the way at the street and we had been in the house for over 20 years with lower water pressure than normal.  The utility came out and had to dig out the valve and get us the pressure that we should have had all along.  Thank you Capital Water Softener!!!

Our old unit (over 21 years old) hadn't worked properly (or at all) for some time so when I saw the great reviews for Capital Water Softener I decided to give them a call. Discussed with Joel about having someone come out and look at the current softener but we decided it wasn't worth the time and money and went with a new, more efficient, metered unit (WS-32) that senses when it should regenerate rather then just doing it whenever time it is set to.
The installer, Bill, was prompt and very friendly as well as professional, knowledgeable and efficient.
I would highly recommend this company and their great LOCAL products.

Another company suggested replacing the whole unit and Capital Water Softener was able to fix the unit for less than $150. Very polite and prompt service. Would certainly call them if and when service is every needed again.

Excellent. Prompt. Professional. Excellent service. Great product. They corrected some of the work that was done when the house was built, that wasn’t how it should be and they did that without charging us.

The service rep arrived within 40 minutes of my having made the call on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend!  I was amazed at how quickly it all happened!  Joe arrived and greeted us in such a friendly, professional manner.  All throughout his checking our water softener, he explained every step of what he was doing.  He adjusted the timer and stayed to make sure the system was functioning properly.  Before he left, Joe assured us that if there should ever be a problem, his company would be available to help in any way.  What a pleasant experience!  And the bill we received was for about $90, which was for the service call in coming from Madison to Cambridge.  All of the system checks that were performed did NOT have separate charges attached.  I was expecting to have to pay more!

Went great. When we initially called, the owner, a very personable guy, was in the area and stopped by to give us an estimate within about a half hour. The estimate was about $600 cheaper than what we'd gotten from another company so we decided to schedule the installation. 
The installer arrived on time, was polite, and installed the unit. Right after he left, I realized that our toilet was running and suspected that the installation had something to do with it.  The owner was at my house within 10 minutes. He said that the installer should have checked all of my faucets and toilet before leaving, since turning off and on the water could dislodge bits of rust from the pipes that could get stuck in faucets and toilets and cause problems. However, he checked everything out, replaced a piece in our toilet tank where a bit of rust had become lodged, and everything was ready to go within about 15 minutes or so. 
We've now had the unit for about a year and it has been entirely hassle free.

Called for check on leaking h20 softener of 13yrs3eRepairman came and tried a fix vs new on first call.Much appreciated as cost was $160.00. A second visit replacement was needed,$787.00 Excellent customer service.All around. Unsure of Angie list coupon....didn't seem to calculate. Overall great place to do business.

My old water softener was very old and did not work.  I had already repaired it once and broke again so I decided to replace.  Capital is local company in business many years with good reputation.  Because of this I was going to use them or another local company that also has great water softeners and reputation (good problem to have).  Decided on Capital because they are closer to my Madison eastside location.  Capital did a great job installing it.  I got one of those water softeners that senses when to cycle.  After 6 months or so It was using so little salt compared to old one that I thought it was not working.  (I live alone so don't use as much water)  So I called Capital and they came out and tested water (no charge).  It was soft and there was no problem.  So I highly recommend this type of water softener . .  you will use much less salt (and water for cycling).

Manny came over to assess the problem, and informed me that he would be able to repair the unit, but that it would be much cheaper in the long run to replace it with a more efficient model.  He explained that I could easily use a smaller unit, and gave me an estimate, which seemed quite reasonable.  He then asked me to call and speak to a specific person to set up the installation appointment, but they were able to fit me in the following week.  Manny arrived close to the appointed hour, and worked efficiently to switch out the softener.  He noticed that I had limited space and got a co-worker to bring a smaller tank.  I loved that he asked me where to put it based on how I might access the controls and salt bags, and communicated his plans very well.  He explained how the unit works, reinforced the benefits over the unit I was replacing, and generally gave me confidence that I had chosen well.  I did check out reviews of other companies in the area, but decided to go with Capital again, as the prices were good, and fact that my last Capital softener lasted so long.

The service person installed the new softener, added a lever type water shut-off valve, saved as much of the old salt as he could, and hauled away the old softener. He explained the features and gave a few tips for use.

Excellent. Bill saved what salt he could and put it in our new softener. Although the Windsor softener isn't their highest end softener it is far more advanced for the price than their competitors. He instructed my wife how to use it and included a very detailed instruction manual.
