Excellent staff. I appreciated them getting a quote for services before I had to decide what to do. I liked that they had dog food and toys available for purchase and a leash holder at the desk for when I paid for things. I like the office 'mascots.'

The vets are all wonderful and competent. I have multiple dogs and have always received good care. This would include basic exams, dentals and surgeries. The only issue I have is that their prices have really gotten out of control. Recently I took my small terrier for a dental where she had two teeth pulled. The cost was nearly $500. Not very long ago I would have paid about half of that which is still plenty.

I'm going to start a few years back. We live 30 miles away in a small town. We have a vet here in town, but our cats didn't like to go there. So we switched to a Marshfield vet on the north side of town. Our male cat had a cyst removed there and came home angry, bruised, hurting, and unhappy. This was a cat that was never angry with anyone. Ever. So, we were clearly not going back to that vet anymore...
We ended up at Castlerock one weekend by accident. One of the cats had an emergency and Castlerock was the on-call vet for the area that weekend. I can't remember what was happening, but the cats LOVED the vet there, despite being treated for the emergency issue. So we simply switched. Both kitties really were fine with going there....even if it was a long care ride.
Unfortunately, both kitties died this past spring. Our male had some sort of sudden kidney shut down. They tried everything, but could not save him. We had him euthanized there. Later in the spring, our female cat developed cancer. Castlerock helped us develop a home-treatement setup for her, pain management, and so forth. They were awesome and took all of my worried cat mom calls without complaint. They were very supportive and full of information. When the time came to have our girl down, they came to the house. What a god send. It made a painful process much easier for all of us.
Now, this winter, we got four new kittens. They go to Castlerock because they are cared for there and cared for well. When I picked the boys up from their neuter day, they were all lovey dovey with the vet tech. The last time I took cats in for this surgery they wanted to run to me and hang on so tight it was nuts. These boys would have been fine hanging at the vets. I got time to learn about their surgery, what to look for, etc. etc. When it was time for the girls to be spayed, they had a good experience, too. We were pleased with how they did and the after care (calls to make sure all was well, etc).
Castlerock's staff cares for you and your animals. The animals like it there. They know.

Our puppy had adverse reaction to rabies vaccine the following day. I called the office they gave me instructions on what to do and received several follow up calls from them to see how she was doing. Impressed with the follow through and concern for our puppy.

This was the first time for us here and I was so impressed with them, I know we have found our vet for future visits! The cost was below what another vet in this area charges and it seemed like they cared more for the animals than the money. They are really nice, courteous, informative, and you can tell they truly care about animals. My dog Buck does not like his nails trimmed. He is 11 yrs old and needs to be muzzled when his nails need trimming. I have had Buck just about his whole life and this is the first time ever the vet told me they had no problem whatsoever with him. He didn't try to snap at them during the entire procedure. Unbelievable! A definate first. Also, my dogs never take the dog biscuits from the vet. Not this time! My female dog took the treats, even two treats and ate them. Both of my dogs really surprised me and I think they are the judges here. If they love their vet, I love their vet! A good experience was had by all!

We have been going there 8 years for our 11 year old cat. We go every October for our cat's annual physical. You can tell that everyone there likes animals and specifically your animal. They help the pet shelter and give a reduced rate to homeless animals. They do a great job.
