West Town Monona Tire & Auto Repair

I went to this shop because my usual mechanic was not able to get me in on that day and my wife was worried about the warning light in her car. I paid approx. $150 for the inspection, but was not told about this cost up front. I thought they would check it out for free or let me know if the inspection service was NOT free. They called a few hours later suggesting $200 in work that needed to be done related to my issue, with a potential for approx. $600 more. In addition, they said there was $600 in maintenance work they said was needed outside of the reason I brought it in. Then they suggested another $1000+ in work I should do right away or very soon. I got ahold of my usual mechanic and told him all the work and problems they found and he called their estimates "way overkill" and he would look at the car himself. So I asked them to let me pick up the vehicle. They were very noticeably frustrated that I was not going to authorize them to do any work on my car. I picked the car up 2 hours later and after driving it from their shop, my problem was FAR worse than it was when I brought it in. Instead of just a warning light with no other symptoms, my brakes were suddenly jerking when applied. I truly believe they messed with my car so I would be forced to bring it back for repair. I took it to my usual shop and got everything fixed for $250.

I was told I needed $1000-$2000 in work that when I had a full inspection 3 months ago was absolutely fine. They weren't happy when I told them I would skip the work and just give me the car back. And now by some strange coincidence, my brakes are jerking (which they weren't before) so I am convinced there was some foul play in order to get my back in to do even more work. I would never trust this shop.

They gave me a full report via text message document with photos of the condition of my existing brakes. it made it easy to discuss work over the phone. They recommended new rear brakes and said I could wait on the front brakes a little longer. But I decided to everything done at the same time. I appreciated there honesty. It cost a lot of money but I shopped around and there price was competitive with other near by locations. What set them apart from others was open on Saturday, the thorough condition report and the timely completion of work.

They are family owned. They have the same staff every time I go in. Knowledgeable and efficient. They are very clean.

West Town Monona Tire does great work at a fair price. They only performed the manufacturer recommended service.  I was given an assessment of the condition of my vehicle and there was no hard sell of unnecessary service.  They have earned my trust.

Everything was great. They are a little expensive but worth it.

Found the tires I wanted online and went in to discuss at the counter. I just told him my year/make/model and he ended up recommending the same tires I was looking at. He explained his preferrence with the tread and that the manufacturer actually had a rebate going on (which I didin't know). Was able to schedule next day service around my schedule. Waiting room was clean and quite with good wifi service - perfect for getting a little work done while I waited for the approximate hour they said it would take to install. They came in to suggest I get an alignment too based on the poor wear pattern on my old tires. Said it would take an extra hour, but they ended up coming back before the first hour was up to let me know they were done. They had another technician jump on to help tag team the job & get it done ASAP. So far, so good on the tires. I was camping over Labor Day weekend and ended up having to drive my little Honda Fit through some thick mud up hill - no problem!

West town replaced a tire on my truck that had a screw in it. They were prompt, on time and reasonably priced.

Although everything went smoothly, I felt that I was not completely informed up-front what I was being charged for, what was included in the price, etc. The total cost was more than I expected.

I do not treat my car the best, and they are not judgmental on that. They only fix things that they are fixing at the time. They do recommend other services that should be done on the future or at that time, but they do not push anything. The pricing is also very good. I got whole new tires last year, and they offered a good price for that. Then, during Christmas time they send out a bunch of discount cards that you can hand out to people, and then, you also get a $25 off for the next service. They are very customer oriented. In the past, I have gone to another service provider in the past, and they were good but they do not go above and beyond.

It was excellent. They are very personable. Explained a variety of options. They were quick and cheaper than the car dealership.

Very happy with the cost of 4 tires. they were able to get me in right away. They have good policy for free rotation every 5k miles and text me when that service is due. Very small waiting room.

It went great.  They are always friendly and helpful and avoid unnecessary work.

Fixed right the first time. Staff is very professional & takes pride in what they do.

Easy online appointment, very quick service, no nonsense about "oh, it is recommended you take care of all these things too", which we have seen at many other places.

The service person was very cuties and they changed the tires while I wait and it was not a long wait.

The service and professionalism was exceptional. We were greeted warmly, all was explained in detail, and the service was performed at the expected time, for the price agreed upon.
