Replaced drafty original fireplace. They installed new one but did not fix draft problem. Work done in warm weather, problems not revealed until winter. They refused to investigate problems or remedy them. Poor installation. Would not recommend.

Had United put in 2 fireplaces in our home. The 5 year old Regency fireplace has quit working 2 times. Same issue each time. The first time it was under warranty. 2nd time it was not and cost us more than $500 to get up and running again. We were informed that this FP will need this same repair every couple of years due to our fuel being LP. Unfortunately when they put it in we were not informed of this issue and are now stuck with an expensive repair every year or 2. United did not back up their product by negotiating a more reasonable price for this regular repair that we were unaware would be needed. We were forced to pay the full bill. United would not accept any part of responsibility for this on going issue. Interestingly our downstairs fireplace that also runs on LP has not had any problems. Just don’t use a United. Rude, unhelpful, unreasonable and dishonest.

United people were very helpful. In-store for the fireplace they had demo units and walked me through features and gave me time to look things over without high pressure. They came on site to quote for the installation and the person who came out was knowledgeable. The people who did the work were prompt and pleasant, and the work was well done and neat. They installed a fireplace in my living room with minimal mess (of course some dust is expected). They were on time for every appointment/work day. When the work was done they walked me through using the fireplace and how to keep it looking great - maybe what you'd expect, but not a given. Price was towards the higher end, but worth it for the quality work.

Ok. not great. First they asked for 80% down to order because I was a new client. That was excessive.Then, they ordered the wrong size. The re-order took a long time (I guess they don't stock much product). Installer was pleasant but left dirt inside our front entrance.

Overall, we are thrilled with the gas insert. It has really warmed up our living room and I love how it looks. We had a few communication hiccups with getting installation set up, but nothing major. We got a quote from one other place that was slightly more expensive, and we liked the unit from United better as well.

When you are building a new house, you have to talk to a lot of suppliers. There are maybe 10 or so different categories of suppliers and when you shop around, you talk to at least three or four suppliers. Of all the people we talked to, Randy at United was one of our favorites. He is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful and patient. I made repeated trips to United to ask more questions and consider different options as we went through process. And even though he probably thought we would never arrive at a final decision, he was also so patient and willing to answer more questions. As a result, we made excellent decisions based on a thorough understand of our choices. While I am sure that we could have gotten away cheaper by using another supplier (and of course inferior products), we really feel like we got excellent products from United at a fair price.

We were pleased when the technician on site made a recommendation upon inspection that would save us time and money based on what the salesman had told us. Originally, they wanted to take the fireplace out from the side of the house, versus simply removing it from the front. We ended up purchasing a smaller unit to keep it clean and simple. This required us to have a customer enclosure created. This was not a big deal, but created a lag in the timeline to complete the job. We had to call several times to get a completion date, as well as deal with the new fireplace and its open gaps (our dog loved trying to get back there!). They rescheduled several times, usually on the morning of the appointment. I was very disappointed when they called to cancel because it was snowing. SNOWING. All that remained was interior work, this is Wisconsin, and the snow had ended by 10 AM.
In any event, we are happy with the price and the finished product. Our new fireplace looks and works great, but I wish the customer service and timing would have been better.

United Brick and Fireplace Inc is on the higher end for price. I like the fireplace. When the drywall has been put on, the fireplace when installed was not leveled. We had to call them back and they had to take the drywall off. They came back and reset the fireplace. They came back, they fixed it and it was fine but they had to come back and it was kind of irritating.

Showroom staff was helpful. They have a broad range of models in operation. The estimator and installer came on time. The installer did a good job of explaining how the unit should be broken in and operated. Later I had questions and United Brick and Fireplace responded quickly and sent out a service person to make adjustments to my satisfaction. The unit has operated well and we enjoy the ability to zone heat our main living area. During a recent power failure we were able to continue to heat the house because the unit can operate on battery power.

They arrived when they promised. Installed the same day. They did a great job and cleaned up afterwards. The insert looks and works great as well as the air-tight door. Further, they were significantly less expensive than any other company for the exact same make/model/installation.

I bought a fireplace from united Brick and fireplace and they installed it. The fireplace itself is really nice, the workmanship was shoddy. They had to put holes in my walls to find the gas, but then built the fireplace enclosure without filling in the holes or insulating them. I had to pay another contractor to rip down the sheetrock, which they installed incorrectly, fill and insulate the holes and reinstall the sheetrock. I called and emailed the manager with my complaints, but she never responded to me.
