"Thrift appreciates the comment that we "did great with spraying" since the spray painting of the soffet, fascia, and siding represents about 98% of the surfaces we painted. We spray many aluminum sided homes each year and people are very satisfied! We applied an additional coat of paint, at no charge and without objection, to some flat smooth aluminum trim surrounding the front window. The homeowner may characterize this as "cutting corners", but sometimes very smooth areas require an additional coat. The "rubber seals" he mentions are the pieces of weather-stripping on the edges of his windows. They should not be painted. We tried to explain that they would not perform correctly if painted. He insisted they be painted. We did paint them for him. We painted a straight line over the jagged old paint on his window edges to improve their look. Typically, on old wooden window sash, you want the paint to be on the glass because it seals the glass/wood joint. The homeowner wanted all of the paint removed from the glass. When the homeowner brought this to our attention, we pointed out that there was a lot of old paint (different color) on the glass. He had not noticed this prior. We did remove all of the paint for him. In retrospect, we should have pointed out the existing old paint on the glass before proceeding."
