The heater stopped working on our Kia Spectra. We brought it in to Russ Darrow, where we had purchased the vehicle and they let us know the blower motor needed replacement. They replaced it and it's been working since. We also used one of the free oil changes that they included when we had purchased the car. Overall we've had good experiences with the Russ Darrow service department.

This is the second time we've gone to Russ Darrow for service. We didn't buy the jeep there but they have been incredible for service. Nice, professional staff who work quickly.

I was trying to sell this 2008 loaded Sable on craigslist, when I received an email from Dan Rhodes. Dan works at Russ Darrow on Odana road - his job is just to buy cars. He made a very reasonable offer and we accepted - very close to the Kelly Blue Book value.

Our daughter's old clunker died and we needed to get her a quick, cheap replacement. After searching online we located a 2001 Hyundai that looked promising--less than 100,000 miles and under $4,000.00. We called Russ Darrow on a Friday evening to make sure the car was still there and was told that it was. We said we'd be by first thing in the morning to look at it, and the dealership said to call when we were on our way and they'd have the car ready for us to test drive. So we called and quot;Kaylaand quot; as instructed the following morning to tell her we'd be arriving at the dealership in a few minutes. Kayla gave us the name of the salesperson to ask for when we arrived; however, when we got there, the salesperson we'd been told to ask for had no idea what car we wanted to test drive. After we described the vehicle, he told us it wasn't available because it was in the repair shop getting a new spark plug. He stated that they had gone to start the car and the thing smelled like fresh gasoline, so it was taken for repair. We asked if we could at least view the vehicle (the repair shop was on the premises), but he said no. He didn't attempt to show us any other cars that might have been available, give us a time when the car would be repaired, nor apologize for the advertised car's unavailability. Needless to say, we promptly left and won't return.

Fortunately we live fairly close to the dealership and so didn't waste too much time getting there, but the salespeople had no way of knowing that. The experience reminded me of a similar one nearly thirty years ago, when we had ordered a new car from Russ Darrow--after waiting several weeks and being told it would be arriving and quot;soon,and quot; we conducted our own investigation and discovered the car had never actually been ordered. We ended up getting the car from another dealer, but had to fight for a long time and threaten a lawsuit to get our deposit back from Russ Darrow.

I guess time hasn't improved the service here, and I'm not sure how a place that seems to operate is such a shady fashion has stayed in business, but I'd recommend you stay far, far away from this dealership. You have many other options in the Madison area, so go somewhere else. (For what it's worth, we ran over to Zimbrick Honda and had a wonderful experience--our daughter was driving a brand new Honda about two hours after we arrived at the dealership).

The people were very nice in the beginning. If I asked any questions, they talked down to me. I'm an ENGINEER, so not a fool, yet, I'm a woman. Then I got tired of them trying to get more money, so I asked them to work it out with my boyfriend. He walks in and they came in (NO words SPOKEN) and said we have it all covered for you. The work is never right or I wouldn't have the same exact parts replaced 3 times!
