"Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. As many of you already know all interstate move customers receive a descriptive inventory of the items being shipped. We now have an app for that. Our new electronic inventory system is top notch, however I can see how our driver could over do it in describing existing conditions. All new damage will be honored as per our agreement."
Otherwise, all the personnel--packers, loaders, driver, unloaders--were highly professional, careful, knowledgable, helpful, courteous, and exemplary.
"Every interstate move client receives a formal firm price quote. I'm sorry to hear that there was a misunderstanding. Thank you for your feedback about the crew who moved you."
"This will be our second move for this member in the past 18 months. As a service business, it is always a testament of a job well done when our customers come back. Thank you!"
We were moving from one side of town to the other. We took care of all the boxes, so all the moving company had to do was move the furniture. We were told that our mattress and box springs would be wrapped. They also told us that they would have plenty of floor protection as we were moving to a new house. We had a large safe so the company said we had to have 3 men and this would take some extra time. We agreed to this. The worst case estimate on time was 8 hours and we were quoted $1,300. We thought this was a bit steep at the time, but the representative that visited to make the estimate sounded knowledgeable and told us that we would be in good hands including good protection for our new house.
On the day of the move the three guys showed up on time at 8am. However, only one guy was practiced and two guys were brand new college students working for the summer and not knowledgeable about moving. They also were unaware that we were to have our mattresses wrapped and didn't have enough padding for our furniture. They also didn't have enough floor protection for the new house upon arrival. They proceeded to dent several pieces of high-end bedroom furniture and broke a leg on our couch. While the company eventually replaced the couch piece, we had to install, because the times that were good for us were not convenient for them. They also left several pieces of furniture outside while a tree "puked" a bunch of junk all over our stuff! At the new house they proceeded to dent the wall and be fairly careless with our furniture. The two inexperienced guys were clueless. It too them 30 minutes to get one dresser up stairs. Professional, this crew was not. In addition, it took them more than the 8 hours quoted, because they were so inefficient. We then had to pay $1,430 or so (about $100 or so more than quoted) to cover the extra time, after they beat the daylights out of our furniture and walls.
I called to complain about the "shotty" service and the prices and have never had a call returned. I get the runaround with the folks when I call and end up on some voice mail where I leave a message that goes to nowhere. Stay away from this company. While they seem good at the quote time you will be disappointed in the service when it comes time to move.
"Thank you for your business. This was not the review we were expecting given the move day survey and follow up replacement of the broken sofa foot. We regret your dissatisfaction and will continue to work with our movers in training. I realize you are upset and have every right to be so, however our offer is still on the table for a $100 refund of your final bill and repair of any scuffed walls. I appreciate your honest review."
"We appreciate your business!"
I have moved 8 times in the past 16 years...this is the worst moving experience to date
The company from the get go was poor at responding and customer service was lacking, in my opinion
I worked from the beginning with the move coordinator to make sure everything progessed well. After our initial conversation everything we spoke of was moot...it was like we never discussed the move
The day of the move, I was given an arrival time
The driver showed up 1 hour and fifteen minutes late. No phone call, no apology, no reason...just we're here...let's go
Very poor effort
If I was offered a move for free, I would not use this company again
"Our goal is to perform every move to the best of our ability and to assist our customer with the safe transport of their personal household effects. Each and every request was immediately responded to and fulfilled, with documentation. The member is correct that our crew was late on loading day and we should have called; we apologize for this."
Full story: We hired Reynolds to move just our furniture to our new house, about 1 mile. (We had already moved all of the smaller items and boxes.) Reynolds' estimator came to our rental house and saw all of the furniture to be moved, itemized it, and gave us a quote. The quote was similar to others we'd received, and we went with Reynolds because they had generally good reviews.
Day of, the move went well but it became clear early on that the time estimate was WAY under-done. The two movers were prompt, professional, friendly and did a terrific job. They were careful with our belongings and nothing broke. I felt so badly for them, though, because they had been sent to our house for a 7 hour job and it ended up being 11.75 hours. They were exhuasted by the end. They stated that this poor estimation happens all of the time and they had no idea how the estimator could have possibly scheduled just 2 guys for 7 hours for this move.
When we got our bill it was of course high so we called to find out how the estimate could have been so far off. We compared the list of items to be moved vs. what was moved and it matched up. However, the total weight was much more than estimated. The estimator was unsympathetic and gave multiple excuses for the bad estimate, none of which made sense. We weren't able to get our price reduced.
It seems to me based on the comments of the moving crew that this happens a lot, and Reynolds' refusal to admit a mistake or come down on price that either they are terrible at estimating or they intentionally lowball estimates to get business.
"We are happy to report that we have resolved this issue with a mutual settlement of each party absorbing 50% of the overage. The member's complaint was legitimate, however management was unaware until the time of this posting."
Finally, at our convenience, we were able to call them to come and pick up the debris (boxes and paper). Again, they were quick in setting up an appointment, and the individual was on time and quick in getting it moved out.We were extremely pleased with Reynolds and definitely recommend them. They are very efficient and professional in their work.
"This repeat customer was just a delight to work with once again! In addition to a full service relocation, we also set up maid service to clean their new home and AT&T Connect to set up wall mounted TVs and cable. Remember...There's moving, and there's moving United."
They were on time, started loading right away. They answered any questions we had.
They were careful with our furniture.
When they unloaded, it was pretty much the same crew and the same professional experience.
We would use them again.
