RED CANARY LLC CUSTOM PAINTING

She went above and beyond to try and do a great job.  I paid her extra because she did more than what I asked.

Interior work was very well done, good advice on colors, timely and well done with the exception of one ceiling that had too many coats of paint put on in a short period of time which began to peel off within 18 months. Unfortunately Red Canary is stating that this is out of the waranty period even though the issue arose from the products put on that ceiling. Otherwise happy with interior work. Exterior work was a very different experience. Poor communication, project dragged on for months, crew wasn't on site when we were told they would be and Shena's communication with us was not professional. I had truly hoped that by the end of this summer (a full year after the work was started), Shena would have contacted me to complete the job and offered a mutually agreeable solution to the peeling and bubbling paint on the side of our home that began within three months after Red Canary painted the exterior and which had never happened before in the twelve years we have owned our home including the previous exterior painting job. Sadly she has not and we need to move forward and hire another painter to do future work and fix the problems created by the exterior job done by Red Canary. Shena's response, the few times we have gotten her to respond, has been to blame us, blame our house, blame the paint and blame the weather instead of simply finding a solution and it is for this reason that I am finally writing this review.

Shena did an excellent job. The color she helped me chose for the bedroom was perfect. Her painting was meticulous-no sloppiness whatsoever. The crack in the kitchen ceiling turned out to be a bigger job than anticipated, but she didn't charge me extra. And as a bonus, she likes cats. Our cat, who can be quite a pest, kept her company while she worked and she didn't mind at all!

Because houseguests were coming on short notice, we needed to redo a bathroom that was in terrible shape. It didn't just need to be painted - the wall surfaces were a mess, with a poorly done sandcoat finish and problems due to previously removed wallpaper and border. Also, because of somewhat odd colored tile and grout in the tub/shower, we despaired of finding a wall color that would look good with the tile, but yet harmonize with the colors in the rest of the house. Shena at Red Canary was just terrific - she came out right away, squeezed us into her schedule in time to be done before our guests arrived, and she came up with a great color choice we just love! The walls were repaired and skim coated to correct the flaws before painting - they look perfect - you'd never know the state they'd been in before! Everyone we dealt with was very friendly and professional, and went out of their way to help us with other aspects of the renovation project. Shena has very high standards for work quality, and she wasn't ready to sign off on the job as finished until everything was perfect. We were so happy to have learned of Red Canary and Shena through Angie's List - she was a delight to work with, and we're thrilled with the outcome. We will be using Red Canary on another painting job coming up soon, and can wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone needing painting services!

Shena is an extremely professional and helpful person to work with. I have had her in my home several times and she always is interested in completing a project that meets my demands. Her knowledge of materials is extensive, and she performs well under challenging conditions. If you want someone who will listen to you and customize a project to fit your needs and schedule, try her out!

Shena was extremely professional and punctual. She spent a lot of time talking and planning colors for our hallway and door. A lot of energy and positive energy! Bill did the majority of the work and was meticulous and highly skilled. They went above and beyond to get our project finished in time before we had guests arriving for a weekend visit. A great team! I would highly recommend Red Canary!

Everything was great. We really appreciated the fact that Shena fit us in on an already busy week for her because we had a guest coming the next weekend. She was also really flexible and helpful in telling us how we could do some of the work ourselves (removing a wallpaper border, cleaning the walls/ceiling with bleach, painting Kilz over some mold spots, spot priming) to fit our limited budget. She also put anti-mold chemicals in the paint rather than priming the entire walls to save money (at our request). She and Bill were very quick and professional and did excellent work--also very friendly and personable. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

They were excellent. Shena helped us decide on the colors for the room and made some great design suggestions for which colors should go on which walls. This was the hardest part of the process for us (I hate picking paint colors), but with her help, we were totally confident with the choices, and it works perfectly with our new furniture. They were able to schedule the project in about two weeks, and it took four days, although not every day was a full work day (to accommodate for drying where two colors meet at the corners). Bill did most of the painting, although Shena was here for a while each day. Bill does nice quality work, he kept everything clean and covered up, and took his time to make sure the job was done well. He was also very nice to our little girl, she thought he was great.

It took three days to paint and they were early each day - very professional and courteous and the kitchen looks great.

The owner has a very good eye for colors and has great suggestions. She has great energy and enthusiasms. She was fairly new at expanding her business. They job took a little longer then we thought.

Sheena the owner was great! She had great vision and excellent control of her workers. The workers were excellent in their abilities. One had a tendency to not show up but Sheena made sure that someone else was there to do the work. My wife and I changed the contract several times and they didn't miss a beat. They just gladly did the work without complaint. The cost was higher than the original estimate but that was our fault. The three man and one woman crew actually became friends. They cleaned up afterwards and left the remainder of the paints for touch up. Excellent work! I will definitely use them again.

Great Work! Shena was extremely professional and detail oriented. She is a true artist. She worked with me on the creative process and made sure that I was comfortable with the entire process before making any permanent changes. She was extremely willing to do sample boards and test colors on the wall to insure that I was satisfied with the decision before moving forward with each stage. She even took the time to clean the windowsills when she was up there! She was on time, and on schedule. She was extremely good about communicating with us about the process. The prices were very competitive, especially since she adds the consultation with this work. I would highly recommend her.
