Dan Skelton of Radon, Inc. talks a much better game
than he can deliver. Dan assured us that he was the best radon mitigator in the
area and told us that he could get our levels to World Health Organization
limits or below.  He is a savvy salesman, repeatedly professing knowledge
of physics and claiming to take a thoroughly "scientific" approach.
His knowledge of the decaying atom appears to far outweigh his practical skills
as a professional workman.
We tested the radon levels in our home before and after the radon
mitigation system installed by Mr. Skelton. We conducted all of the tests
ourselves with charcoal test units we purchased from Farm and Fleet that were
recommended by Mr. Skelton. Typically the contractor provides this service post
mitigation but his electronic test units had not been calibrated in over a year
according to him and were very unreliable and inconsistent. We spent more than
$100 in testing that should have been a part of his service.
In the end when we expressed our dissatisfaction with aspects of his work,
the radon levels as well as very shoddy finish work, he said he never promised
to do the finish work. The concrete work was extremely careless--he had made
holes both in the wall and basement floor that he never attempted to make look
like anything but the most primitive effort. In terms of the radon numbers,
that  are still less than satisfactory
according to his initial promises, he says ?it?s not a science but an art and
it?s the best that could be done?.
We still have not received a proper invoice or warranty material for
supplies or workmanship. He insisted on being paid the day of the initial work,
$900! 8 weeks have gone by and he has not finished the job despite repeated
phone calls and emails. Apparently he was offended that we questioned the
quality of his work and he has stopped communicating with us. When we suggested
that we could not give him a positive review on Angie?s list he said he didn?t
care because his other ratings were so high.
We are hiring another contractor to complete his work and will be taking
him to small claims court.

Dan was early for his appointment which was nice. He was done in 4.5 hours and left my garage floor and basement cleaner than what he started with. He even came back later in the day to install a gage he had forgotten earlier. Very knowledgable.

I just purchased a home and had high levels of radon in the basement. Called Dan at Radon, Inc and although he was out of town got back to me in about a week.  As soon as he was back in town he came out to my house and did an amazing job.  He put in a pipe that tapped into the water run-off system under the foundation and ran it out of the basement and up out the roof of the garage.  He sealed cracks in the floor of the basement and put a sealed cover on my sump pump.  Everything was done very professionally and he was able to do it all in about 4-5 hours.  I was really impressed with his attention to detail.  After he was finished he walked me through all the different parts of his installation and explained what he did, why it was done that way and how to maintain the system in the future.  I certainly recommend Dan if you're looking to have this work done.

Dan arrived at our home to give us an estimate the same day we called him. He spent time with us explaining the problem and solutions to us. He gave us an estimate which ended up being the actual cost. Dan tested our home in two different locations to be sure he could identify the right location for the installation of the venting system. After he finished the job he once again tested and our home is now radon free. Dan was very pleasant to deal with, very reliable and professional.

I was really happy with the work of Radon Inc and its owner Dan.  Not only did Dan take time to explain everything very well to my husband and I, but he was extremely responsive to our questions.  He even offered advice and help on a variety of issues that we discovered in our newly purchased home.  
When he ran into trouble drilling through the exterior wall of the house, Dan was very patient and took the time for us to find a solution that worked.  We decided ultimately to vent it through the roof and Dan did that without charging us more than his original bid.  After the installation, we called him with a quick question about a whistling sound the pump was making, and he immediately came over to fix it -- even though it was the weekend. 
Dan's price was higher than many of the other radon remediation companies that we called for bids, but the quality of his work and his responsiveness were excellent -- certainly enough to justify paying slightly more.  Radon is no joke -- we were happy to pay good money for good service.

Dan does great work.  He has lots of great references, and he deserves them.  I definitely recommend him if you have a radon mitigation project to do.

Outstanding customer service, workmanship, punctuality and business procedure.  The service provider is a decent, helpful guy who charges a fair price and delivers more than fair value.  He is responsive, affable and helpful.  I recommend that anyone looking for radon mitigation services in this area call his references as we did. They praise him uniformly and enthusiastically. You can us to that list.  (Please note that Radon, Inc is affiliated with Croix Valley Radon Mitigation, LLC.  I would suppose that this review should apply to them as well although we haven't had direct experience with them.)

We discovered we had Radon levels in the house near 7.0 using 2 do-it-yourself radon tests. I received a couple of recommendations and made calls to have them come in and consult with me on a solution and provide quotes. Dan Skelton from Radon Inc called immediately, squeezed me into his schedule and met with me within 24 hours. We never heard back from the other company. My meeting with Dan was very informative and I found him to be knowledgeable and professional - no pressure tactics. I learned a lot in talking with him and I knew exactly what to expect and what I was getting. After completing the post-installation testing he contacted me, to answer any remaining questions and outlined further steps that could be taken to bring the levels down even further - again, no pressure. We are satisfied and found the whole experience to be very painless.

Estimate was provided in a good timeframe, work was done in stages which was fine with us. helped us plan for install of a vapor barrier (which we were able to handle ourselves). radon levels were about 5 pCi/L before work and dropped to below 0.3. we're very satisfied with the work
