+ -1 moreCalled Jim and he said he'd get back the next day to set a time. He called early the next day, Thursday, and said he could come and install a new gas hot water heater we had talked about the day before. He came along with a couple other men and installed the new Ruud gas hot water heater in about an hour. No fuss, no problems. Took out the old one. I have used Oasen Plumbing in the past for plumbing problems and even bought the last Ruud gas hot water heater from them 17 years ago!! Hope this new one will last as long. They have always come when they said they would, are professional and congenial, and donn't leave a mess. Reasonably priced in comparison to others.

+ -1 moreMy experiences with Oasen Plumbing were wonderful. We did some remodeling and there was some pretty hi tech work done. I had to cut through our concrete and in fact they were wonderful. They were just wonderful. There were no issues at all. If we have any plumbing issues we will definitely use them. They had been referred to us by a friend and I was just trying to see if there was anything out there on them. They were just so responsive to our needs. They were very timely and considerate to our schedule. They were very professional, just the nicest people. I don't think there was anything that I liked the least about this contractor. I would grade them 'A's all the way through. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Description of Work: We finished our basement and added a bathroom. Plumbing needed to be connected to the existing water/sewer line. The cement floor needed to be cut and that was quite a project. They also installed the toilet and sink hooking up all those connections. We had installed the shower, but they also connected the water to that unit.

We didn't tell them what we had been told. He checked pipes, saw leak, showed us the leak, fixed leak........GREAT SERVICE.

+ 0 moreVery professional, arrived exactly on time, completed project quickly and answered our questions on it's operation. The only negative was the price. We did not get estimates from any other provider and we discovered later that it would likely have been quite a bit less expensive through a couple of other plumbers. We think we can count on their reliable 'customer service' in the future but, next time, we will get at least one other price estimate.
Description of Work: We decided to replace our aging water heater and called Oasen for the service. Their location is very close to our house. One of partners /brothers came over to inspect the heater, space around it and review our options. We decided on the 'new' instant heat, efficient style and he ordered it for us. They installed new water heater and removed (took with them) the old heater.

In addition, Jim assisted in coming up with some solutions to problems caused when the previous owner compromised the structure of our joists when putting in previous plumbing. Jim's team was very professional and showed up on time. They asked the appropriate questions and kept my house CLEAN. I was surprised at how great they were about keeping doors closed inside the house as they knew I had a toddler. I did not have to ask them to do this. Jim has always responded quickly to my phone calls also. I would hire them again if I have additional plumbing needs.
Description of Work: Our project was to rip out plumbing lines in the basement that routed from the first floor spare bath that had been done poorly (by previous owners) and master bath, and to re-run plumbing for a master bath remodel.

Description of Work: I called Ken to schedule a time to fix a leaky pipe and get an estimate for re-plumbing our cold water line so that it ran through the water softener. We talked but he didn't schedule a specific time. He said he would call me in the next two weeks when he had time for a quick afternoon pipe fix an estimate. I never received the call and will be going with another company.

+ 0 moreI think Jim Oasen is an excellent tradesman and I would use him again. I can't give him a perfect rating because he's slightly pricey. He was going to give me a verbal estimate only. Since I'd never used his services before I asked for a written estimate at which point he raised his earlier approximate verbal estimate by $50 for just the hot water heater portion of the job. The main thing is he did an wonderful job in all other ways and the final price was not totally out of line.
Description of Work: Jim Oasen and one of his assistants replaced an old gas hot water heater with a new version of the same brand and type (Ruud). The contract also called for him to check a couple of leaky faucets and a leaky toilet as long as he was at my house. He did all those things well. Since hot water heaters don't have feet anymore, he put the unit on bricks to keep it off the damp floor in my 108 year old basement. When he came to estimate the job he asked if he could use a few bricks I had in the basement, but I told him he needed to supply his own materials and he did. He gave a good explanation of the changes in the new model. He also explained what he did to fix the leaky faucets and toilet and how long he thought one of the faucets might last. All waste was hauled away. Jim and his assistant cleaned up very well afterward. They noticed a plumbing joint that was leaking on a nearby water softener and recommended that I call the company that does the most installations of that brand (I think he probably did not have the part with him, but was otherwise capable of fixing it). He told me the part name so I could communicate better with the water softener contractor about what I needed from them.

Yes, I was a little shocked that 2 valves and 5 minutes of work would cost as much as it did, but as someone with very little confidence in DIY plumbing, I'd rather have it done correctly the first time, by a courteous, punctual professional. I plan on hiring Oasen again for more plumbing work in the future.

Remove cast iron waste pipe from basement to third floor. Cut off in sections and pulled up through wall. Replace and redo all plumbing violations to third floor bathroom as ceiling was removed and all plumbing was exposed. Installed all new fixtures.

+ -1 moreThey were right on time. They will be sending the bill by mail. I had problems with the water heater before, and I had called them. They told me that it would be cheaper to replace a couple of parts and gave me the name of a wholesaler or supplier. I talked to them and they helped me out. I actually got the heater going for a couple of months until it started leaking, and then I called them back. They were very prompt and did a good job.

+ -1 moreI was seeking estimates on a tankless water heater install and encountered several outfits who were unfamiliar with the technology or who increased their estimate from their stated ballpark figure on the phone, although the particulars of install were not different from what had been described. Oasen talked a very competitive price over the phone, showed up on time to do the estimate, considered different options with me, took time to explain what he was thinking and basing his estimate on, did not attempt to upsell me to a more expensive unit, and returned a highly competitive, and in my opinion, fair estimate. They will be high on my list for plumbing services in the future.

+ -1 moreOasen arrived on time and completed the work quickly, for a very fair price. They were professional and cleaned up after the work was done. They removed the blockage from the insinkerator (without needing to replace it), and they re-routed or replaced several of the PVC pipes under the sink. They corrected work that the previous homeowner had done by making sure that the dishwasher did not continue to drain through the disposal. At the end of the job, my husband had them write up an estimate for replacing the toilet and vanity in our upstairs bath. Based on the high quality of the work and the value they provided, we will definitely consider using Oasen for this future project.
Description of Work: Oasen fixed the garbage disposal in our kitchen sink, along with some associated pvc piping. They also gave us an estimate on our bathroom remodel.
