They came in under budget and did a great job. The crew was on time, they were professional and made the process as painless as possible. We are still unpacking, but so far have not found anything that got broken. I would recommend them highly.

I was so impressed with these guys. I had called several small and large moving companies but they were all busy and expensive. Most of them require you to pay for 2-3 hours minimum to make it worth their while. O'Mara Moving doesn't have a minimum and has very competitive rates. Like other moving companies, their clock starts when they leave their warehouse, so they had estimated that it would take 2 hours. I was worried that traffic and construction would slow them down, so they recommended that I schedule it for 1:30 pm when traffic would be less of a problem. I was impressed that they helped me minimize the time rather than scheduling it for rush hour and charging for an extra 1-2 hours.
They picked up my furniture from the consignment shop and carefully wrapped it in packing blankets. I couldn't have done a better job myself, and I'm a very careful person. They were very friendly and professional. When they arrived at my apartment downtown, the construction crews were blocking my front entrance and cars were blocking my back entrance. I was doubtful that they could navigate those obstacles, but they weren't even phased. I was expecting that dust and dirt would get tracked into my apartment, but they were thoughtful about wiping their shoes and didn't track anything in. Despite the construction, they beat their own time estimate and only charged me for 1.5 hours. These guys obviously know what they're doing and take pride in doing it well. I will recommend them to all of my friends and will call them again if I need anything else delivered.

The firm was very accommodating to our needs. We needed to be moved out of our house on the day of closing, before closing. They came to our house at 8:00 a.m. and had our truck packed by 12:00 p.m. Made it to the closing table at 1:00 p.m. They left our home and met us with our truck at our new house (a few miles away) and had our house unpacked by 5:00. | |To save money, we actually just rented the workers, not the truck. We had rented a UHaul and we also had everything boxed up that could be, and loaded up in the garage. So basically, we hired a "brute force" team to do the heavy lifting, so to speak. | |In the end, I'm not sure renting the UHaul and packing everything in our own boxes saved all that much, as we had many different sized boxes that we acquired from Woodmans over the previous months. The different sized boxes made it more difficult for them to pack, as it became much more like a game of Tetris, and as such, took them longer to pack. | |But I would highly recommend them. The other places that I read about in town seemed shady in different ways (unreliable or very high priced). Some of the competitors even wanted to charge us for idle time! Um, no thanks.

They were very punctual and professional, and they charged a competitive rate.

Shannon and Anthony were prompt. We had prepared the doors and removed the porch railing to make the move easier and prevent damage to our leather sofa. These guys got right to work and had everything moved out in 15 minutes. They followed us home and set up the furniture in our living room (after moving a couple pieces to the basement).
O'Mara was the first movers we have used. We are getting a little older (along with our friends) and it was a wonderful experience having Shannon and Anthony help us with the heavy stuff. We will definitetly use them again!

Overall, the job was consistently and smoothly professional.

O'Mara did a great job fitting into tough time constraints to vacant my old home. The movers were very professional, charming and saw things I did not see. They handled the surprises very well and knew exactly what to do. They helped pack, arrived on time, unloaded and everything was returned without damage. If I have to move again in the future, O'Mara will be my first call.
