The house looks good after the work was complete, though on close inspection one can see that some of the detail work is not done to a very high standard (for example, the trim around the windows looks somewhat imperfect here and there, with the mitered corners not quite matching up. Not a huge deal, all things considered). When the contractors were finished, they'd broken one of our storm doors, so we had to contact the company to ask them to credit us or replace it. They replaced the door, but may have done something wrong with the installation because it now sticks when we open or shut the door...we didn't complain further (as I'll explain below!). They also sided a covered stairway and pounded long nails through so that the ends were exposed on our tenant's stairway...they took care of that problem after we reported it to them, but it seemed an example of careless workmanship. They left paint chips and minor debris on the front steps and front walkway, but did a better job of clean up around the rest of the house. Again, we didn't complain about the mess, but I do think it shouldn't have happened! The worst part of dealing with this company, and the primary reason I wouldn't use them again, was the way they escalated from pleasant and professional to nasty and threatening when we told them we wanted them to send a final invoice before we'd send them the final check. They hadn't even fixed the storm door they broke when they started requesting that we give them a check by hand...So we requested an invoice, and the contact (Randy Schaefer) responded with said invoice, but also added the following in an email: "If payment is not received, we will have no choice but to file a lien against your property for that balance. I am certain that would make the sale of your home much more complicated than it need be." We're never late with bills, and there was never a need to threaten such a thing. The grabby, threatening, quick-to-become-nasty approach left a very sour taste in our mouths. We'd been good customers, and felt totally disrespected.
All things considered, and not being an expert in siding...I suspect this is mid-grade to average quality work. The price is GREAT though, and so, they might be a great deal. But I think it is, in general, important to remember that "you get what you pay for."
