John Dish is the mechanic. He is honest and provides very helpful information that customers can understand. He does particularly excellent work with older cars. The pricing is fair. I can completely trust him.

I honestly don't know where to begin in describing how satisfied, in every aspect, we are with this fabulous automotive repair shop. As a family we've grown to trust these guys and rely on them to take care of all of our vehicles for as long as I can remember. They have always treated us honestly and fairly - like they'd want to be treated.

I called and told them my toyota camry was idling and quot;loudand quot;- sounded like a diesel truck and that the tires sounded like a thumping noise, especially heard when under 30 miles an hour.
I took it in on Friday the 18th, they called me after a couple of hours and told me my water pump was so loose it was ready to fall. They would not let me even drive it as it was so unsafe. I agreed to fixing it and they ordered parts but would not beable to fix it til Tuesday, as they were 1 man short and busy.
I called about noon on Tues to check on it and they were working on it. They called me back and said that it was fixed and the noise with the tire was an uneven wear. They recommended I start thinking about replacing the two front tires soon. Quoted me 135.00 each tire with mounting and balancing for Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring tires.
They also noted my transmission fluid was getting dark and stinky. And it would be $135.00 to flush and use Toyota brand products. They did not push either of these things to be done immediately but should think of getting them done by summer.
Very courteous and friendly service!! Would definitely trust going there again and recommending them.

They explained the repairs needed and gave me options. Very impressed with how respectfully these guys educated me about my car. They have a great sense of humor but take obvious pride in their work. They fixed my problem at a reasonable price. Very professional staff for a small, local garage. I'll never go back to my dealer again!

It's great. It's a small shop and the mechanic always explains everything thoroughly. They don't do unnecessary work; only the work that's needed. They're not cheap but I feel as though I get what I pay for. They've been my regular mechanic since I purchased my car, which was in 2000. I'm satisfied with their service and I will continue to use them in the future.

I have been a regular customer for many years. This is an honest and reliable locally-owned business. They will do what is necessary for your car, and will not try to sell more services or products just to make an extra profit. Prices are very reasonable. They will also tell you if something is beyond repair and more work would be a waste of money. The only negative is that the shop looks pretty messy at times, but you go for the quality service, not the decor:).

The place could use a good cleaning, but that's my only knock on them. Very polite both on the phone and in person. They performed the work I asked of them and did it in a timely manner. They also gave me a heads up on some preventive maintenance I will want done in a few thousand miles.

I dropped on my car Tuesday night and by 10AM the next day he gave me a call. I told him I could replace the sensor myself and just to charge me for the diagnostic (which worked out to about $40) and he didn't give me any grief at all. He ordered part (a special order from Mazda) and said it would arrive the following Monday. I brought the car in the following Tuesday at 11AM and he called at 2PM that it was done - that really impressed me given that he also did a tire rotation and balancing as well per my request. The final price was right on the quote. I found John very personable and professional - he really knows his stuff. It's a 10 mile drive for me, but it's worth it - John is now 'My Mechanic'.

It went very well. It was quick and for a very competitive price. I don't know much about cars and this is my first(used)car, so John was very nice in explaining everything that they found. He also(at my request)gave his recommendations on what would be a good idea to get done(i.e. battery that was about to die)and what could wait.

For each of the 2 repairs on the lemon (1st used) car, John did not get our hopes up. He explained the situation clearly, as well as all our options. He was personable and professional at all times. He did not proceed on any repairs until he was certain of our wishes. Once done, he provided a detailed, written receipt that itemized the repairs - including the repair, the parts, and the labor. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly. He gave advice when asked and we always appreciated his counsel and expertise. My husband and I agree that in our 30 years of driving, we have only had one other experience with a garage that was this positive. We feel confident that John and his business is thorough, competent, and HONEST. In addition, we were impressed with the attitude of the other customers who came and went while we were there. Clearly, many of them have been coming to this garage for years! They treat John with warmth and respect. There is a very friendly atmosphere there.

John and the guys at Monona Motors have been taking care of our cars for years. They have been infinitely patient with our beat-up old cars and delighted when we could finally afford better. John is excellent at letting us know what needs to be done for safety (brakes, exhaust) and what can wait (cabin air filter.) His prices are reasonable and I trust his work and his advice.

The mechanic is really good! He warranty his parts for up to one year in case something goes wrong. I don't think that I would use any other mechanic. The rates that he charges are pretty fair as well.

They are also excellent for helping consumers to decide the quality of a used car. You can take it in to them and they will fairly assess it. They will give you the strengths and needs of a used car. They are very helpful to us. We have referred them to other people as well.
