Casey Miller is great to work with. He redesigned the deck to give us more usable space without increasing the footprint significantly. He priced out several options for decking/railing materials (treated wood, cedar, various composite materials) and gave me addresses of jobs he had done with a couple different composites so I could see how they looked in sizes larger than a 6-inch square sample and after they'd been weathering for a while. He pays attention to the smaller details (no butt joints on deck boards!) and makes sure the homeowner has input into decisions that other contractors might make on their own (i.e. do you want these adjacent posts side by side or diagonal? Do you want the downspout discharging this direction or that way?).
The original deck had been fastened to our house improperly, with a horizontal support beam that channelled water into our home. Casey remedied this problem and coordinated with our siding contractor so that our siding job wasn't delayed and that the structural parts of the deck were integrated with the house's siding/trim with as clean a look as possible.

Tough job. Leaves were very wet and heavy. Very miserable and cold day. Responded quickly, communicated clearly, and did an excellent job. Will definitely use again.

Casey is very friendly and easy to work with. He was careful to explain all the details and provided several pricing options. The install was quick and painless. We went with the AZEK decking. It's obviously brand new, so only time will tell regarding the longevity of the product. That said, it seems like a super solid material.

They did a fantastic job. Removing the leaves was a very large project as my house is in the woods. The men were very professional and each one had their assignment and went right to work. When they were done there you couldn't see a leaf in the yard.

Casey was an absolute professional and I am so pleased with the finished product. He came when he said he would and he communicated through the entire project and most of all he wanted me to be pleased with the deck addition. Due to my request to use some existing materials, he ran into several obstacles and after problem solving he came up with brilliant solutions and he even worked over time on a Friday afternoon to finish the job. Casey is very talented a has creative ideas and he even custom made the privacy fence. I would not hesitate to hire Miller - Rohde again.

Casey Miller (the general contractor) was extremely professional and timely. His crew (plumber and flooring installer) were courteous and timely. The house was cleaned up after the work was done and we did not experience any issues with the new fixtures. The transition between the tile and the hall carpet was installed with a slight lip that might catch the bottom of your foot, but it was really imperceptible (I did not notice it at all) and Casey had his installer come back to the home to fix the issue. Casey's prices were very competitive, in fact I had another contractor tell me that I was getting the best price from Thrifty Home Repair.
