It's hard to prep the exterior of a 15 year old car in black.  When Don was done, my Trans Am stood in the bright sunlight without a swirl anywhere.  It was the deepest, richest black you can imagine -- better than the day it was born.  He said it took two passes of compound and a finish of polish -- but the quoted price was the same as if he had only to wash it.  I especially loved his interior treatment:  no glare on any surface, glass, leather, carpets, and instrument panel clean, and (!!) it didn't smell like a perfume factory.  Four cheers.

.We dropped the car off around 9:30am and got it back about 5:30pm.  They do great work at a very reasonable price.

They did an excellent job on my car, it was immaculate! And as a frequent Grouponer, I also appreciated not feeling like the customer who doesn't get treated like a regular customer (as I have from other businesses in the past after presenting the voucher). The service at Madison Auto Detail was very courteous and professional. My wife and I will be going back the next time our car looks as bad as it did that day. Thank you much!

I read a lot of reviews and thought that this would be the
best detail service I could get in Madison, boy was I wrong.  I bought the complete full detail inside and
out and when I picked it up it was a clean car with a fresh coat of wax but no
attention was given to the DETAIL areas. 
I can clean my car and wax is but I didn?t have the time to clean in all
the nook and crannies and really give the car a good once over so that is why I
put down the cash to have someone else take care of those areas for me.  You could see where they ran a rag over the
console and where it was still dirty, on the dash you could see where they ran
over it quickly with a rag because you could see dust sitting in the corners
where the rag didn?t touch.  The door
jams weren?t touched at all, even the vacuum job was bad.   So, I told them I wasn?t at all happy and
they looked at me confused and asked what wasn?t clean.  I think I spent 10 minutes showing them areas
that weren?t touched and they agreed and said that they would do it again.  So I left my car with them for yet another
day to redo it.  When I picked it up
about half of the items I pointed out were addressed but I still found many
areas that were not even hit with a rag, it was a joke and I wasn?t about to lose
my car for yet a third day so I just got the car and left.  I spent another 3 hours at my home finishing
up the detail that I paid them to do, then my car was actually clean and
detailed.  I even told them that I was an
Angie?s List member and the I would be writing a review so I figured when I
left the car for a second time it would be given the best service they had but
instead they seemed much more interested in getting cars in and out the door versus
putting attention into the detailing of each car.
I have since taken two of my other cars to a different place
in Madison and to say that the quality of the job doesn?t compare would be an understatement.  I won?t be back to MAD again, maybe in the
future they will get better but right now they are not even a consideration of
mine.

Helpful, professional staff and owner. There are swirl marks from the buffer all over my brand new car. Am taking it back today. Will update this review. Update: - they re-did the application. There are still swirl marks, I think they may always be there, however they tried and tried to make it right, and still encourage me to bring it back if I need to have it looked at again or if there are any problems. Very nice, and professional staff, and they listened carefully to my concerns and addressed them right away. If they had a loaner car, that would be really helpful when having to leave autos there for longer periods of time.

I recently purchased a used Honda Ridgeline.  The interior was not very clean for a major auto dealer.  Stains on the seats (apparently
Ridgelines are prone to this), stains on the carpets, prior owner was a smoker, etc.  It appeared the dealer used deodorant and did a marginal cleaning on the interior.  I even asked them to go over it again before pickup, but it didn't seem to make much difference.  I purchased the vehicle anyway as the price was right.  I researched detailing places in Madison and settled on Madison Auto Detail.  Wow, did I make a good choice.  These guys did a great job!  They met me at pickup time to go over the cleaning.  The seats were excellent, carpet great - these guys even cleaned the headliner with their carpet equipment.  It was several shades lighter due to all the nicotine removed.  The smoke smell was gone and the interior was squeaky clean.  The exterior was very well done, wheels dressed, all glass spotless.  Couldn't recommend them more highly.  Will bring other vehicles here when the timing is right.  I did pay extra for large vehicle and odor abatement but it was well worth the money.

We had a wonderful experience at Madison Auto Detail. From the moment we walked in we were treated in a friendly and helpful manner by everyone we met. The receptionist was organized and well-informed about our appointment. We looked over the car with the person in charge of detailing and discussed problem areas we hoped MAD could address. He explained what was included in the detailing package and offered suggestions and pricing to address scratches and dents that might not come out during the process. Our car looked beautiful after the detailing...like they told us, "it is just like having a new car." We will definitely be returning customers and will tell others about MAD.

Fabulous job.  Car is 1999 Toyota Camry.  It is well maintained normally, but this detailing made it look practically new.  I am very pleased with the result.  The appointment was easy to schedule.  The car was ready earlier than expected.  We did this during the week, which is not their busiest time.  When I called them to schedule they mentioned that Saturday appointments fill up well in advance, so if you need that call early.  
If you don't normally maintain your car, don't expect miracles.  Do expect a thorough job to make your car look as good as it can.

Brought the car in at scheduled time for express detailing (Groupon purchase) and was met by the owner or manager. The work crew hadn't arrived yet, which had me a bit concerned -- but the previous day was extremely hot, so I'll cut some slack. At time of scheduling, I was asked if I wanted a ride to a coffee shop (or somewhere else), which I accepted. I wasn't expecting to drive my own car to the coffee shop (3 miles, one way) and have the manager drive it back. I presume this wouldn't have been the case if the crew was ready to start work. So this is an area of improvement opportunity. I was told they were likely moving just down the street soon to a larger location, so a waiting room with wireless would be ideal. 
They brought the vehicle back a bit less than 2 hours later. I did a quick inspection and thought everything looked much better.  I expected that the inner portion area of the wheels would have been cleaned, but was informed that it wasn't typically done, and I understand that it is probably a difficult area, particularly for an express detail. 
My vehicle is black and the body definitely looked much better, even some areas that had been dulled from past improper cleaning attempts, so I was happy about that. Interior looked good and smelled good. Floor mats looked better than I expected.  
When I got home in the garage, I could see some areas on the exterior that could have been done better -- mostly in the center area of the car where it is harder to reach, and small detail areas like around the windshield washer ports on the hood. Inside door jams could have also been wiped down better. I also noticed some streakiness on the windshield. Had there been a larger problem, we probably would have had to drive back to the shop, which would have been a hassle.  
All in all though, I was happy with the results, given the price. I would probably be a bit more picky had I paid full price though. I would purchase another Groupon for an express detail from Madison Auto Detail.
