Ikens Hardwood Floor Service

They put in a wood floor. It had kind of a custom trim to it. It was a different kind of wood that had to be removed. Some of it was craftsmanship but also bringing his expertise to the design. He did an extremely good job of incorporating with the adjacent rooms. We came up with the general design and he kind of took it with some very subtle details and made it better than we imagined.

Bob's great.  Punctual, professional, friendly and he does awesome work.  The new floors are beautiful.

It was very high quality work. The results were excellent.

It was a long time ago and I don't remember alll the details, but I remember it was a pleasant experience without any hitches.
However, about a year ago I called Bob to come out to do repairs to one of the bathrooms (we had a slow long term leak that we were not aware of until the flooring started to shift) and to look into putting some kind of green/hard wood flooring into our dining room. He came out to look at the repair needs and measured the dining room, but then after a few emails back and forth about the dining room flooring material he kind of disappeared.

I didn't know that he was on Angie's list and I just joined the list a couple of months ago. I was glad to see Iken's on the list and rated well. So perhaps he has taken on too much work lately. However, given his lagging responsiveness, I have checked the list for additional hardwood installers just in case, when I get back to this project, I still get lagging responsiveness. I also have to say, to be fair, I was not in a big hurry to get the job done and I did not call him repetedly to get him to act.

I personally think he is brilliant. I saw some of his portfolio work and his design, I'm very impressed with him. They did a good job, they told me how to keep it up, what kinds of things to buy, not to damage the wood. They were professional, just did their work.

Bob fit my small job in between other larger projects. He did a great job and it was as clean as he said it would be. The floor looks great, there was no mess and I appreciate their attention to detail. This is the second time I've hired him, very happy with the work.

I called Bob to look at the small job and give me an estimate. He was happy to do it, and that he was confident he could find flooring that would closely match the existing flooring. He did the work during the day while I was at work. When I got home, he had installed the flooring with wood he had reclaimed from a similar home; it was the exact manufacturer as the flooring in my house! The flooring looks great; while it's not an exact match, I don't think a closer match could be found anywhere. The joints are tight, and you can't tell the work was done. Bob was conscious of keeping the area neat and clean, doing most of the cutting out doors to keep the dust down in the house. After installing, Bob gave me pointers on how to refinish the flooring myself, going so far as to suggest where to get the best floor refinishing products. Bob is a pro, a nice guy and I highly recommend him.
