He was fine. Our cat has special cat food, so we go there to buy food. They can be a little pricey. We will continue to use him. They interact with my cat really well and they like him. They are great.

Our cat caught a cold. After two weeks of progressively worse sneezing, I decided to take her to the vet. First, I was VERY appreciative that they purposely leave a few slots open at then end of the day just for cases like our urgent but not emergency visit. I didn't need to wait long before we were invited to an exam room by a very friendly staff (who I'm sorry I don't recall her name because she definitely contributes to these five starts). The vet tech gave the cat a once over, took vitals and asked about the problem. It wasn't long before the vet joined us. This clinic has several vets and we've probably seen all of them over the ten years I've had my pets. This time we saw Dr. Laura Oxley. While it has been several years since seeing this particular vet, she remembered me and the cat - I really appreciated that. Instead of dragging the cat out of the cat carrier, the vet tech and vet took it apart. I wouldn't have thought of that - and I offered to pull the cat out. "No" Laura said, "This is more comfortable for the cat." Ok, you earned five start right there. We talked about symptoms and she did further exam. The cat has a sinus infection and the vet perscribed antibiotics. What really kicked this visit to five stars was the follow up email. Laura called my cat "sweet" and included a report card of the visit. The vets, tech and receptionist are awesome, and going to the vet was a pleasant experience. I can't speak for the cat, but it came close for her too :)

The receptionist was fantastic. They were friendly, caring, and I felt very well taken care of.

They're very professional and friendly. They work well with the dogs.

The vets here are great. It's easy to see how much they love the animals. We dropped the dogs off early in the morning and picked them up late that afternoon. Dr. Chrisman provided pain pills for the dog that had an extraction. They explained what they did, how the dogs handled the surgery and showed us before and after pictures of the dogs' teeth.

They are the best. They are caring, considerate about the animals and owners. They help the owners to make good decisions within the constrained individual circumstances.

I don't think I could say enough good things about the vets and staff at Healthy Pet. These folks clearly care about both their animal and human customers. They listen, counsel, and offer many options, clearly explaining the pros and cons of each. Two quick examples: When the older cat broke a canine, they took the time to grind it down to allow him to keep the tooth rather than simply removing it. Our cancer-kitty was sent home by another vet as a hopeless case 18 months ago. Drs. Oxley and Cristman have put him on a chemo regimen that has restored both his energy and quality of life while respecting our budgetary constraints.

There's no one story, though I could describe in detail their extraordinary kindness, consideration, and professionalism when my cat was dying of cancer and had to be euthanized. This review is to call attention to their services generally, as finding a good vet is difficult to do absent a service like this list. My wife and I had bad experiences with places that continually pushed expensive and invasive services, regardless of cost and the quality of life for the pet, it seemed to us. Healthy Pet is fairly small, and decidedly not flashy, but the quality of care, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff, and the unmistakable feeling that you're not getting ripped off more than makes up for the absence of a posh facility. (I should point out that the clinic is perfectly comfortable and clean, just not as luxe as some of the chain places.) Since we found Healthy Pet, we've never once had any urge to go anywhere else.
