The reason I gave a B in Punctuality is because I initially tried to use their website to schedule online. When I didn't receive a response, I phoned and found out that the business is in the process of changing hands (purchased by brother), and website was not yet updated. Phone calls were returned promptly. Three guys, on time, very polite, very thorough and careful, very efficient. And discount for mentioning Angie's List!

We have lived in this house for 55 years. Neither one of us was ever into throwing things out. My husband was in the construction trades for 50 yrs, a master plumber and built houses on the side. We cleaned out 3 houses of relatives ourselves. There were tools from 2 generations of plumbers, "stuff" torn out of houses, pieces of pipe--everything from actual antiques to lots of trash. They came in, and in an afternoon cleaned out the areas I wanted cleaned. I will have them back for the packed-full garage and to move things from the house as well.

Very satisfied with the service. It was lot cheaper than renting a trash container. I had to store the waste in the garage and so could not use the garage for the entire duration of the project- about ten weeks. But since it was during summer, it did not matter that much. Plus since we were doing quite a bit of work ourselves, it gave me flexibility and got Harlan to haul the waste only when the entire project was complete. That saved me money as I would have had to pay extra money for keeping trash containers longer.

Very very nice and professional. They also worked fast and detail oriented. I felt calm during the process as they talked to me and we joked around ..... while they continued to work. I will be using them again. They also recycle things by organizing my junk in their truck.

We've hired Harlan's Hauling for various jobs in the past and as usual we are delighted with the results.  This job was to remove old broken 18x18" pavers (approximately 60 pavers) and replace with new 12x12" pavers (about 120+) .  We purchased the new pavers, sand, and edging at Menards and Harlan's crew picked up all the supplies and delivered to our home.  After they removed the old broken pavers, they had to add a couple inches of leveling sand and stamp it flat, then place the new pavers and finish with a surrounding edging.  They did all this on one of the hottest days of the summer.  It took approximately a week to finish the job, which was expected.   We ran short of supplies and we ordered more from Menards and Harlan's crew picked up the extra supplies.  They charged us exactly what they had quoted the job to cost.  The new walkway is beautiful and we are very happy with the job.  We'll definitely hire Harlan's Hauling future jobs.

They made what seemed (and I was told would be) a big job into a minor one.  They called ahead of time to tell me they might be late (most others call at the time or late).  Then they were earlier (not later) than the estimated time!  They carefully cleaned up the site!  It looks great.  They asked me if anything more needed to be done (rather than taking off).  They were extremely polite and professional and I will be calling them again for any related tasks that require muscle, efficiency, and a keen grasp of 3-dimensional space.  They disassembled and hauled off my eye-sore so quickly & cheaply!  Such relief - I've been looking for help with this for a very long time

This is the first time I have actually used a service that I found on Angie's List and I could not be happier with the results. They had a slight delay in arriving and called me to make sure the later time was alright. When they arrived, they were very professional and did a great job. The price was great andI highly recommend Harlan's Hauling to anyone who needs anything hauled away. I asked and was told that everything that could be reused would be and only the real junk would be recycled or otherwise disposed of. After the work was over, they cleaned the space and even swept the basement stairs to clean up some saw dust. A great company.

These guys are awesome!  Highly recommended.
With growing piles of remodeling waste building in the basement, yard, and garage I was looking to rent a dumpster rather than try to drag it all to the landfill over a dozen trips.  Stumbled across these guys here on Angie's list and gave them a call.  For less than the cost of the rental dumpster, they sent a truck and three cheerful, strong young men.  Three hours later all the garbage was gone and I was able to keep working from home the whole time.  No dumpster clogging the driveway for a week; no time wasted filling it myself.
As an added bonus, they removed an old and very heavy upright piano from the basement (with advance warning).  When they couldn't move it up the stairs intact, they asked if it was OK to demolish (it was) and then set about with sawzall, crowbar, and sledgehammer to break it down.  It took about an hour and a half for two guys to take care of the piano while the third loaded most of the other junk.  The bill was not itemized, but the stated cost of the piano removal was only an extra $75!  I'd been calling movers for two years trying to find someone to take this thing off my hands and couldn't find anyone willing to do the job for any price due to the basement location and difficult stairs.
The three young men were very polite and personable.  They checked back with me often to make sure they were getting the right stuff and not missing anything.  And at the end they made sure everything was cleaned up, vacuumed, wiped floors, etc.  Very well done!
I will definitely hire these guys again in the future.

They showed up on time, worked quickly, and charged a fair price. They were careful to ask me about all of the items I might want to keep and did a very nice job of cleaning up the area after they were done (which I had no idea was included in the price). They only charged me for 3/4 of a truck and could have easily claimed it was more full than that. I would use Harlan's hauling again in a heartbeat.

I bought this house when my mom died in 06, I grew up here and the basement and front porch still had junk from when my dad left and when we moved here in 93'. The nice thing is for the same price as a dumpster alone they send two guys to do the labor and for me that's exactly what I need most since i'm disabled. They worked for close to 6 hours but it's a flat rate which is great, they own the 30 cubic yard truck to I had them fill it up and then they when and emptied it out and we filled it half way again.I didn't want to spend over that amount and could have filled another 1/4 truck worth up but, they got all the old business junk, old appliances and nasty moldy boxes out for me and we very funny and nice guys!

These folks are fabulous--I'm almost 70 and I have never worked with a better company providing any kind of home service so in my amount of living, that says something.  They contacted me the same day I contacted them, came out as soon as I could spare the time, and did the work I thought would take an hour and a half in 45 minutes.  My house was cleaner after they left than before they came b/c they did such a good job cleaning up after themselves, and they hadn't really caused any mess any way.  They were going to be a little later than they thought so they were courteous enough to call and let me know, which many companies can never be bothered to do.  I can't give them a high enough rating.  You won't find anybody better at any price.  Oh, and I almost forgot; they ended up charging me less than they had estimated, and they were already very reasonably priced compared with others I've contacted and/or worked with who charged more and didn't do as good a job.  How often do you get somebody who does a great job who charges you less than they estimated?

Harlan sent 2 guys out to clean out a commercial basement.  I originally placed an ad on craigslist which he answered.  There was a small misunderstanding which was worked out on site and his guys were very polite and efficient.  I would absolutely use him again for a job.

There were three people...one in the attic who handed things down the stairway to someone on the first floor of the garage who ran things out to a flat bed trailer.  The guy on the trailer packed it so tight by breaking things down and making them fit, they got nearly everything on the flat bed. They did it all in one trip and in about 2 hours time.  I was amazed.
I was happy to know they recycle, sell, or salvage everything they can. I was quite pleased with their work and will use them again, as well as recommend them to clients.  I really liked that they were local, instead of dealing with a national franchise.

This is the third time we've hired Harlan's Hauling to do some work for us and we were very pleased.  This time we needed help loading heavy furniture, boxes, and other heavy items onto a moving van and called them for help.  They were quick to respond and very reasonably priced.  On the day of the move, two nice young men arrived on time and they first assessed what needed to be loaded on the truck.  They had some great ideas for maximizing the space so we were able to get everything we wanted onto the truck.  They also moved a piano into another room for us.  The job took approximately 4 hours and they did a fantastic job.

Called them, told them the article to pick up, they told us a date and came and the job was done!

• Very well, the owner called when they were going to be a few minutes late and arrived shortly there after made sure he only took what we wanted to go and was very courteous and nice. Would definately use him again !! Very fast and gone in no time.

Harlan came and worked on the garbage/dump items that needed to be hauled away as we sold the property and needed to clean everything out.  He helped to ease the stress by doing a great job over 2 days
