About four or five people were out to complete the work. It took about two to three weeks. We were satisfied by the work that they did. I would recommend them to friends or family. Overall it was a good experience.

I hired Genesis Exteriors to scrap as much peeling paint and to repaint the exterior siding and trim. The actual person doing the work was very nice, polite and a hard worker. He even came out on Saturday to complete the work. He did a relatively thorough job, including taking down gutters and down spouts. Once completed, we conducted a walk through. Initial, everything looked in working order. However, I notice little details which alluded me the first time. For example:
1) A corner trim did not get painted the way I described. The other side was painted correctly.
2) A basement window well cover, which got damaged and they kindly replace it with a new one, did not get refastened to the window well with the clips and fasteners provided.
3) The gutters were not fastened back to the fascia board securely, resulting in roof run off bypassing the gutters and entering my basement. After many years with a dry basement, I get my first wet basement occurring when I recently have new carpet installed. The discoloration in the carpet is noticeable.
4) The person doing the estimate had good intention when itemizing product they were going to use. However, I did get resistance when I called him out on one, aside from other products I question, which were to be used. He tried to make a case for it but I did not agree with him. In the end, we met in the middle, but I still think this is an unethically practice. That is to say, estimate a product intended to be used, not use it and credit only a portion back to the customer.
In the end, I rated this company based on both the estimator and the laborer. Both are decent people but the experience with one person and the aftermath details left me unimpressed. They probably received a better rating than I would prefer based on Angie's List's generic rating system and especially the aftermath details. I could have called them back to correct the issues (except the damaged carpet) but it was simpler and quicker to pull out the ladder, the extra paint they left me, a brush, etc, and correct the problems myself.
I am confidence in my remarks and observations, working for a commercial architecture firm for 15+ years. I work with contractors, almost on a regular basis. Albeit, commercial is a different beast from residential, I have learned to pick my battles with so called, "skilled trades". This is the second company, whom heavily advertises in the media, which has disappointed me. Never again. If they want to remedy this, they can pay to have the damage portion of my carpet replacement, at their cost. Somehow, I doubt that is going to happen.

GENESIS PAINTING sets the benchmark for professional painting contractors. From the estimate to cleanup at the end of the job the GENESIS team demonstrated that they knew their business and took great pride in doing it well. Eduardo and Horatio were methodical and precise in making sure of the paint color match and in every aspect of painting the siding, soffit and fascia. They were pleasant, incredibly hard-working and thorough. The entire experience was a pleasure from start to finish!

Genesis Painting completed our entire exterior renovation by painting the foundation to match the siding that was installed by Genesis Exteriors. Cory did a fantastic job and was very professional. We would highly recommend Genesis Painting.

The service worked out well. They painted the kitchen, family room and the upstairs room over the garage. Two painters completed the work in about three days.

We bought our house (built in 1895) back in 2006, which reportedly had been painted one year before and we did not know who painted it. In 2007 it started peeling, I did some scraping and touch ups, and the peeling continued in 2008 and 2009. In 2010 we decided to get the whole house either sided or repainted, and called for a few estimates on each option. We knew of Genesis as we had heard their commercials for years, and based on their reputation and decent estimate, decided to go with them for one reason - a three year warranty on all work, which the estimator told us would not be an issue since the quality of their primer and paint was so good that we would be very satisfied with the work they did. So we signed the contract and they did the work without any problems. Fast forward to the summer of 2011, when we started to see some minor bubbles and peeling so we called them out to do warranty work and they did it quickly with no problems. Summer of 2012... same issue but we knew at that point that we would likely be calling them back in 2013 so we waited, and indeed, by the summer of 2013 the peeling and bubbling was significant all over the house and garage. We wanted to wait until the three years was about up so in the summer of 2013 I went to the Genesis office and spoke to the owner of the company, Brandon. We also considered getting our house sided by Genesis, and had them come out to do an estimate for siding. After that estimate came in, being quite high, we thought we could negotiate the cost of the paint job and deduct it from the cost of the siding and that any reasonable business would agree that their paint job had failed and that it would be customer-friendly if they worked with us. Here is where the problems arose. They offered us no real deal on the siding beyond a paltry amount, and I was told that "because our house is old, no paint would stick to such an old house." Yet in fact, the original estimator never mentioned this and did in fact say they could do good work because of their quality primer, never mentioning we would have significant peeling since the house is old. So, the paint failed, Genesis failed, and while the painters worked pretty hard and were sociable, I would never use this company again. Here it is, April 2014, and last year's touch-ups are peeling too.
Update after provider response.: I could go back and forth on the accuracy of the provider's response, I will only highlight a few facts. 1) The company never warned us of the issues that come with old houses, simply stating they could solve our problem, and they did not; 2) Six times the estimate/cost to scrape all the old paint off, so $48,000 to paint our house? Never was I told this, offered this, and even if you had I would have laughed at you, such a statement is absurd; 3) Not obligated to cover the warranty work you did within the three year warranty? I beg to differ, since all the work you re-did was within three years; and lastly 4) I should be appreciative you upheld your end of the contract? Sure, versus NOT doing what you said you would? I stand by my original review and remain steadfast that the old adage applies... buyer beware.

"In our 20 years of business, this is one of the most unappreciative, and unfair reviews. We never want to see any warranty issues on a home, but when we do, we always go above and beyond to help our customers. the member stated this house was painted by another painter one year before Genesis did it and it failed, he also said the house was built in 1895. Very old houses have many coats of paint on them like this one, and any peeling shows that the oldest coat of paint is starting to let loose not the newest coating. If you want a perfect paint job on a 100+ year old house, you need to strip all the old paint and start with new paint. That would have cost about 6X our estimate. It was explained in great length that any new coat of paint is laying on top of the old paint. If the old paint falls off the wood, our new coat will fall with it. NO painter in Madison would have warrantied this job based on reviewing competitor warranties. The reason no one would warranty this like we did is because not one failed area was a lack of workmanship, all of it was the oldest undercoat giving in. the member is expecting that scraping loose paint, priming and painting will somehow guarantee that all old coats of paint the underneath paint will be magically new also. In most cases the peeling stops for a few years, but no one can guarantee this without stripping. We warranty old jobs at our risk because we can't predict it either. We spent more money out of pocket than the customer paid us, and not one issue was a lack of good workmanship. It's just an old house, with old paint and probably some moisture issues. We scraped thoroughly, primed and painted. Genesis Painting spent over $3,0000 just on the warranty work that per our contract we were NOT obligated to cover. We also did offer a real discount over 10% from our Exteriors division on siding that we did not need to offer at all. Most customers would have appreciated that we were responsive and honored our warranty for an issue we had no control over."

Edwardo and his crew went above and beyond with their patching, prep, quality, attention to detail, and clean-up. The father and son painting crew were prompt and efficient. They only put on one coat of paint when I requested two but they said it did not need it. And they did not charge me for the extra coat. So far so good.

I was so pleased with their work and I have received so many compliments. My kitchen was all very stark white and I wanted some color. The gentleman that came out was so very helpful with helping me choose the colors I wanted. He took so much time with me. I have a picture that has very vivid colors in it, and I wanted to base my color selections off of that. All of the colors really blend together and play off of that painting. I want to complement them in any way I can. The way that they cleaned up after the work was so thorough. One of the painters even took pictures of where my furniture was before they moved it, so when they were done painting everything was placed right back in the exact spot. They also vacuumed and swept my kitchen floor when they were cleaning up. I was so impressed.

Had estimator give quote for painting of the trim around garage doors that was worn down as well as the painting of the entire living area of our middle area (which is a huge area). Quote came quick and reasonable. They had a color consultant that came out and helped us decide on colors (they ended up PERFECT) which was quite nice. Before the job happened we asked about adding on painting of the trim in the areas as well, which when quoted seemed a bit high. I talked to the estimator and we discussed this and he stated that we could probably find a cheaper company, but their goal was to make things "Better Homes and Garden" ready. After having the job done, I have to agree. It looks great and we couldn't be more happy.

This is the second time we've used All Aspects to paint a few rooms in our house. The first time, we had them paint a living room, dining room, and kitchen, all with very high ceilings and some repairs needed. That cost about $1,000 and was definitely worth it. Jim went over the various paint finishes and helped us pick the one that would work the best for what we needed, and also helped us go through and pick the right options for fixing various problems with the walls and ceilings (dents and scrapes, drywall tape cracking and bubbling). He then got to work and finished within the three-day time period he had given us. Everything turned out better than we could have hoped!
We can't stand painting, and we liked Jim's work so much, that we hired him again to paint an office and a bedroom. Once again the price seemed very reasonable, and he and his co-painter Victor finished everything in one day and did a great job. We will definitely hire Jim again if/when we need more painting done.

I needed a painter last minute and was referred to Jim for service. He was able to accommodate an extremely tight schedule in getting a job done (1 week notice and he got the job done in 3 days), and was even able to re-do a full upstairs free of charge when the paint store did not match all 4 cans of paint. He was an extremely hard worker, and got the job done in a phenomenal time frame. His work was great. He also did some smaller projects of hanging items around the house that I could not do myself. I would higher recommend Jim.

My experience overall went very well. I was pleased with the work the provided. They were prompted and efficient. The crew was very friednly and professional. They were also great with the clean up afterwards. There were some brackets in the bedroom that he painted over and that is my only complaint. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this company.

The finished product looks great! Have received lots of compliments on the colors and job that was done.
One painter did the entire job over 3.5 days. He was very prompt starting each morning and stayed until he completed what he said he would each day, including clean up. He took a great deal of pride in his work. Would definitely contract with this company again!
