Great. I appreciate their very useful suggestions for initial planning. The crew did a great job and excellent clean-up, and also gave good suggestions for maintenance. This is my 2nd project with Ganshert and I will definitely use them for future projects.

Sean at Ganshert was great to work with. His design was creative and professional and he listened to our suggestions. I plan on using them again.

They were very efficient and performed the landscaping in our front yard on schedule. We added a lannon stone walk on both sides which they were able to accommodate. The supervisors came to our home several times to inspect the work. Overall very satisfied.

Torrential rains had caused some leakage in the basement around a window. Badger Basement fixed the immediate problem but pointed out that the back yard was not graded away from the house, so we called Ganshert to correct this. The person who came to determine what was needed was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and recommended making a swale to carry rainwater away from the house to the street.. We did not meet the crew who did the work because we were going out of town and suggested that they do the job while we were away. They did so and it was completed when we returned. The work appears to be well done. We have not had enough rain to stress it seriously but water will certainly drain away from the house.
It seems expensive but everything seems expensive to me (ice cream cones were a dime when I was a kid). Others recommended Ganshert and I did not get competitive bids. As far as I am concerned the work was worth the price.

Errin Schlapbach did a great job designing something that I liked and that was appropriate to my gardening skills (almost zero); and the gardening crew got the job done in one day. I've gotten a lot of compliment from neighbors, and Errin has been very quick to respond with answers to my questions. She's also stopped by the house to check on the plants afterward when I concerned about how they were doing. I'd highly recommend them - wonderful job.

I would not recommend them. They previously did landscaping for us and a lot of their plants died. They were reluctant to replace them because they said they were not under any warranty. They planted them in the fall so we did not even get to enjoy them. Also a bush they planted died but they did replace that. I am not sure but I think their overall plan did not allow some of the plants to properly grow. We also asked them to come out and re-mulch and they would not discount this service even though we spent about $5,000 for landscaping. I will not use them again in the future.

My patio was a concrete patio, and all cracked, and it was shifting toward the foundation, which was really bad. They removed it, and then poured the concrete and redid the steps coming out of the dining room, and put in a couple of fence sections to screen off from the neighbors. They did it so that it was not an eye sore for our neighbors. They also put in a sidewalk that went along the side of the garage, to make it look a little neater. They did a nice job.

Paul, the owner did a design for me and put in some plants and stuff in the front yard. They sent out a questionnaire and I actually sent it back and said that things were okay for the most part, but there were times when I had to call and have them come back. They didn't put enough mulch around one of the trees and they really didn't finish off one area very well. They didn't cross seed it very well. It would have been appropriate for Paul to come out. Paul is a friend and that's how I contacted him. I put on there that it would have been nice if he would have come down and checked to see how things looked and asked me how I felt about it. He could have followed up and found out how I felt about it. A little more follow up would have been much better. He's a bit pricey. The only reason I went with him was because he was a friend and I've seen his work before. He's a very, very good artist. He has been in the business for years and years and years. I think a little bit more follow up would have been appropriate. I had to have him come back twice. I guess I would hire him again. I may talk to him about the pricing a little bit more. I had come to find out later about his review on the estimate that I got. My ex-husband does a lot of landscaping and stuff and he could have done it a lot cheaper. I wanted it done nicely and I wanted some input. He's actually a landscape architect too and he came right to the house a couple of times and brought me a whole nice packet of information with the drawings. I was going to have more stuff done in the backyard, but I decided against it just because the front yard was so pricey.

However: probably in an effort to cut costs, NAILS were used to secure decking. Every time I use that deck, I encounter a nail which has worked loose, I have either stubbed my toe or tripped me. NEVER AGAIN.
