I took it for a test drive when i picked it up and noticed the wheel was severely out of alignment and I told him it was leaking after I test drove it, and he ignored my complaint about the leak he didn't even look at it and told me everything was ok to drive all weekend. It was out of power steering fluid by the time i got home, a mile or 2. I brought it back on monday and I apparently now have a leak in the power steering cooler... When I told him I was unhappy and I feel like in light of the terrible experience can we can split the difference on a $200 repair as I felt considering the circumstances he should have noticed it when I originally brought it in and/or brought it to his attention. He said no, I told him I don't trust him and I will tell the 3 people that referred me to him about my experience and he got very mad. I told him I may dispute the charges on my credit card and he told me he doesn't trust me and that in order to get my car back I will have to bring him $1500 in cash and he will credit my card when i give him the cash in order to get my car back and he hung up on me. I called back and told him I don't have time for this and I will not dispute the charges and to lock the keys in it and I will pick it up later. He agreed.
I got the car back and I have now since taken it to a different shop, but I observed that it was not leaking out of the power steering cooler instead that it was leaking from low pressure return line from the cooler to the rack which he noted on the work order that I refused to have that fixed. However, that was not what i was told over the phone. I was told it was the cooler and that the new pump had more pressure and burst a hole in the cooler. I also noticed no evidence of a new power steering pump. I have it at a new shop and I am waiting to have all this verified and I will follow up with what they find.
