"(member name removed) Thank you, thank you, thank you! You have written a synopsis of what I want my business to be. I used to scoff at the notion of a corporate culture. I purchased Car Care Clinic thirteen years ago. I no longer scoff at the notion of a corporate culture anymore. Got rid of the old and brought in new. I am delighted to hear you are happy. The people that work with me are the best I have worked with in years. I appreciate your business, your trust and your character. You are a very interesting person and I have enjoyed talking to you over the years. Thanks again! Jeff"
"(Member name removed) I appreciate you taking the time to review us. We will never sell you anything you don't require for safe operation of your vehicle. I have always told my employees to treat other people the way you wish to be treated. There is enough business around, I have never had to create it. We enjoy working for people like you and we appreciate your trust. Jeff,Sandy,Terry"
"(Member name removed) What a sweetheart. Thank you for writing the kind words. No one wants to spend money on there car. Many grumble and complain. You are always a ray of sunshine and happiness. We appreciate you. Thank you. Jeff,Sandy,Terry"
While I recognize that humans make mistakes, and anyone can have a bad day and not use their best phone manners, this experience exemplifies most of my experiences with Car Care Clinic. This particular repair was associated with a repair from last fall in which a balancer and belts were replaced. In that case, Car Care charged me both for a diagnostic look and for resetting a check engine light that originated when the belt/balancer was damaged (i.e., it should have been reset during the repair and not needed the extra trip/charge). In previous visits I have had A/C repaired only to have to return a few months later to have the problem fixed again (charged both times), and had brakes replaced that seized while driving out of town and needed adjustment by another shop. As an aside, they have never once asked me to see the repaired/replaced parts -- something I expect from a good mechanic.
Each one of these encounters on its own was probably a "B" overall, but the sum total culminating in the most recent experience was enough to drop them to a "D" and for us be done with Car Care Clinic.
"[member name removed], I am very sorry to hear you are unhappy. Yes the mechanic was having a bad day and regrets moving his lips when the thought should have stayed in his head. He did not intentionally hang up the phone on you. There was silence and he thought you had hung up on him. The mechanic you were speaking to did the repair. He is a certified master technician with thirty five years experience. He knew that he had done nothing wrong and was frustrated with the dealer not you. I did not realize you incurred a labor cost in replacing the belt. I was told it was done along with your timing belt and had to be removed and reinstalled to do that job. I do have problems with what you have written about your other repairs performed here. The only association between your balancer repair and your alternator repair is that they both ruined your belt. One was caused by your harmonic balancer failing and the other was caused by your alternator seizing. The resetting of the check engine light was not in any way related to the balancer failing. It was a code for the mass air flow sensor having problems. We reset it and told you to drive the car and see if the light came on again. If it did we would have rechecked it at no cost for the next sixty days. If it was related to the repairs we had done it would have been taken care of at no cost. In regards to your air conditioner repair. The system came in very low on refrigerant. We evacuated and recharged the system and looked for leaks. None were apparent at the time of service. It is our normal policy to schedule a return trip in two weeks to recheck for leaks. Leaks can be so small they are never found. I don't know any other way of handling air conditioner repair when no obvious leak is found. The first visit you were charged for the evacuation and recharge. The second visit you were charged to repair the leak that was found. You were not charged to do the evacuation and recharge again. I know nothing of your problems with your brakes seizing. If you would have notified us of the problem we would have reimbursed you if there was a problem with something we did. If I don't hear anything I can't do anything about it. It is state law that any parts replaced must be available for the customer to inspect. After the vehicle is gone it is legal to dispose of them. We have some customers that ask for their parts and some don't. There is a box next to the line you sign on the repair order requesting your old parts. We are happy at any time to provide owners with their old parts. We generally don't make a point of asking people if they want their old parts. Most people have no interest in them. The people that do make it very clear to us they want them. I operate an honest shop and we always do what is in the best interest of the customer. We are careful how much and what is charged for. We are not the most expensive shop nor the cheapest. It is always painful and sad to have an unhappy customer. Once again I apologize for the mechanics slip of the tongue. I sincerely wish you the best and hope you find a shop that performs to your expectations."
"Thank you for the kind words. We attempt to provide above average diagnostics and repairs in a timely manner and a reasonable cost. We beleive we are not the cheapest or the most expensive place. We try to provide a quality repair experience. We hit that mark a majority of the time and hear nothing. We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to repair your car and taking the time to review us. We know there are many other places to get your car repaired and we sincerely appreciate you bringing your car to us. Sincerely, Jeff A Jensen"
I brought my 2006 Taurus in for a possible problem in the exhaust system that was causing a noise. Jeff checked the system and diagnosed the problem within an hour: a metal element had come loose and could be easily replaced. There was also a small leak in the exhaust, which I'd had tentatively diagnosed by a relative, and Jeff suggested fixing it within the next few months for approximately $80-$90. He only charged me for the labor to check the exhaust system, and was both pleasant and straightforward with me throughout the whole process. I was so pleased with the service, the shop itself, and the hours (I was able to come in on a Saturday). I will definitely bring our cars to this provider in the future!
"Thank you *****. Auto repair is something that requires trust between the customer and the repair shop. We approach repairing the car from the owners viewpoint. We take your safety and monetary interests into consideration. There are some things that are not as important as others and some things that are dangerous. Nobody is calling us from a corporate office to tell us we are not selling enough. ( Like doctors before HMO's started running your health care.) We appreciate your business and will always have your interests first. Sincerely, Jeff A. Jensen"

"[removed member name] review illustrates the value in being a regular, loyal customer at your auto repair shop. I have been working for [removed member name] for over twenty years. They are wonderful people to deal with and I really appreciate having them as customers."
I ended up paying for only 15 minutes of labor.
The technician also adjusted my coolant filling level, which I over filled, for free.
"I am sorry to hear that this client is unhappy with our recommendations. The vehicle at the time was 15 years old and 60,000 miles. It should not come as too large of a shock that the rubber belts and hoses would be recommended for replacement. The reason that you change belts and hoses all at once is to save money on the replacement and to have a reliable vehicle. If you wait for each belt to break individually or wait for each hose to blow individually. You drive up the replacement cost approximately five times and you have an unreliable vehicle. We always treat the vehicles as if they are our own. I do know that our prices are not the cheapest in town, nor are they they highest. We will continue to recommend what we feel is in the best interests of our customers. I sincerely hope that she has found a place that she feels more comfortable."
