Two months ago I noticed a brown spot that appeared in the drywall. I called Brunke and explained the situation. It then became two months of contacting them, asking someone to come and help fix this problem. I was annoyed because now I need to pay for a second round of drywall patching. I finally was able to speak to the owner and he assured me he would fix the problem and two weeks later someone came to my house. The technician said he adjusted the door 1/4" to help further seal the door. This entire time I was under the impression that this was done free of charge. I just got a $100 bill in the mail (don't forget that $20 trip charge). If they can't guarantee their work, then I wouldn't use them again or recommend this company.
Mistakes happened, so we waited for the second installation of the replacement mirror. Meanwhile, we were in the midst of a general remodel in our home and at the initial measurement for the mirrors we had a printer sitting off to the side of the bathroom countertop (not in the direct line of the faucet) and a cardboard box on the other side (again not in the direct line of the faucet). Neither one could inflict the type of scratch that ended up on the faucet. Which is is neither here nor there because those items did not scratch the faucet. The items were there at the time of the measurement for the faucet and gone at the time of installation ~ with no damage done to the faucet. The faucet was fine before the installation (and after the printer and box had been removed) and had a 4 inch scratch in the direct line of the mirror installation after the installation. It is not difficult to deduce what inflicted the damage. Brunke glass had the installer call me. He stated at one point we had a lot of stuff on the counter, suggesting we scratched the faucet, and they did not scratch the faucet. I asked them to come see the scratch and that it was on the direct line of the installation and was from the mirror. not the long-gone items on the countertop He refused and again blamed us ~ we are the victims of this of the mistake. He further stated they were professionals and lifted mirrors over faucets all the time (but evidently not past the electric outlet they scrapped the first time and broke the mirror ~ evidently not professional when it comes to installing mirrors past outlets, just faucets). I was pleased with the work in general and the friendliness of the staff. However, I cannot recommend a company who does damage and will not accept responsibility for that damage. Beware.
"In response to Member’s comments: The original installation of the mirror was done against our better judgment. Due to the construction of other areas in the house, there were appliances, boxes, a printer, and several other items in the bathroom. Out technicians attempted to install a mirror for the customer while working through a maze of remodeling. We should have instructed the customer to remove those items first, and returned at a different time. However, that was not the case, and the edge of the mirror was chipped. When we returned to install the mirror, the items were removed, and the countertop was cleared. Using suction cups, our technicians lifted the mirror, and the installation went off without a hitch. When our technicians left the Member’s home, there was not a scratch in the faucet. However, Brunke Glass was not the last to be in that bathroom. The electrician was in there after us, in order to hang the fixtures…over our mirror, and over the faucet that is not scratched. Members were extremely pleasant to work with, and were very prompt with the payment of their bill. It is unfortunate that our relationship has ended in such an unpleasant manner, but we cannot take responsibility for an error that was not ours."
