Everyone I worked with at the shop was extremely knowledgable and helpful. The enitre staff went above and beyong to help me. Lou especially worked tirelessly to fix my difficult lock.

Back door dead bolt lock stuck. Bill was called to repair (Yeah, I tried to fix it myself).
Prompt, polite, and repaired quickly.

At first it went well. The lock worked for about 9 months then started getting worse. When I called about it, I was put on hold for about five minutes. Then I was asked for my phone number and someone would call me back. No one called me back. I eventually called them again (and was put on hold for another 10 minutes) mostly because I've used Bill's for years and wanted to give them another chance. When I finally got someone (fairly certain it was Bill), I explained the situation, they said they only warranty their work for 60 days. They said I could bring it in again. I was frustrated that they weren't willing to stand behind the up-sell that had me buying a new lock or the work they did in re-coring the lock. That's just not a very good customer experience!

On Christmas night, we arrived home to discover that our deadbolt lock had broken. We had keys, but were unable to get into our house. Seeing as it was Christmas (not to mention snowing), we were not optimistic about our chances to get a locksmith to come out. However, Bill's Key Shop not only answered the phone but came right over. The locksmith drilled through our lock which made a terrible mess but was the only way to get us in the house. He took care not to damage our metal door while still getting us in as quickly as possible.

My front door lock broke; they came out within hours of my call and had a suitable doorknob and lock with them. The individual was kind of strange and took a long personal call while working, but the quality of the work was good and they responded extremely quickly to my service call.

I grew up in Madison and I have known about Bill's my whole life so when my daughter called me frantic, I actually knew exactly who to call.
