AmeriSpec Inspection Service

Really good. He was out the following day and they charged me an hour even though he was there an hour and a half/. He worked with me for what I needed so that I didn't have to pay extra.

Pat Skeffington was our inspector. He was prompt, professional, informative, and friendly.
Thankfully the inspection didn't turn up anything unexpected, so there aren't many details to give. Pat seemed to really care about doing a thorough job, and was straight-forward in explaining why certain inspections couldn't be done (roof couldn't be accessed due to lots of snow, driveway covered in snow, etc). The report made it to us electronically the same day as the inspection, and it was clear and concise.

A detailed report was submitted with recomendations. After a couple months in the house, some problems became apparent that we were not made aware of by the inspector.  These had to deal with concrete needing to be raised to prevent water from running into the basement.  Insulation in walls and ceiling being very inadequate, improper exhaust fans and ventilation issues.

Pat did an excellent job. He was extremely thorough and took the time to explain everything he found and what I may expect from the home in the future. We bought a new house so we had it inspected. The inspector was friendly and helpful.  She was diligent and did a good job.  She found some things in the house the needed attention, and the contractors that we later worked with said that they were very impressed that the inspector had even found the items that needed attention.  Would recommend this company.

The inspector arrived before the scheduled time.  The inspector was very friendly, professional, and very helpful to me being a first time homebuyer.  The inspector answered any questions we had in a way that we felt informed of the issues and if we need to take further action.  The inspector was very detailed in inspection, that I felt really valued the price of the inspection.  We received the report in a timely manor as well, a head of when the inspector said we should see the report.

I arrived early on the inspection date and Pat was already there and had started the inspection. He showed me what he had already done an then walked through the entire property with me showing what issues needed to be addressed and what we might do in the future.  There was some work being done on another condo in the association and Pat actually went there and talked with the contractor to find out what the issues were and whether they might have any bearing on the condo we were interested in.  He was extremely helpful in explaining the mechanics of the property and tested appliances.  He wrote a complete 29 page report with pictures and explanations of what needed to be done and what was serviceable and I had a copy of it by the end of the day.  I was impressed with his professionalism and his attention to detail.  He was also pleasant and easy to work with.  
By comparison, the buyers of our home went with a different inspector who is on Angies List and he did minor damage to our furnace, left mud on our floors, and was messy.  Therefore, I would be very careful about who I hire as an inspector and  I have come to the conclusion that all inspectors are not equal and Pat and AmeriSpec would be the only ones I would chose in the future.

Offered constructive observations about both radon and CO - friendly, efficient, professional. I would hire again and recommend highly.

I tried to show up at the inspection early, and Mike was already there and setting up. He was super friendly and chatty the whole time, talking me through every little point that he found and answering all of my questions. His knowledge of older homes really put me at ease, and his eye for detail was uncanny. When he found out that I had to leave the inspection early to return to work, he actually apologized that he wouldn't rush the inspection so that I could see it all. It was more important to him that he take his time so that he didn't miss anything. I was really impressed.
Not only that, but the inspection report was *LITERALLY* sitting in our inbox THAT NIGHT! (Even though he told me that he had another inspection that he had to get to once ours was done.)
Thankfully, Mike found some pretty major issues in the house that we were able to bring up with the sellers. Unfortunately, the sellers were unwilling to fix them, and we had to walk away from the deal. Still, we were so happy with Mike's work (we would so much rather walk away from a house with issues that we know about than buy a house and be surprised) that we'll definitely be asking for him again the next time we need a house inspected.

Pat was awesome!  He took me through the entire home and property.  He pointed out several things to me about the home - including maintenance issues, previous problems, things that were more of an FYI than an immediate fix...he was very patient and took his time.  He gave me an honest assessment of the home, noted his concerns, and answered all of my questions.  Overall, the inspection process was great and helped me with decisions on how to move forward with the home.
Additionally, I mistakenly did not order a radon test when setting up the inspection appointment, and had to do so a few days before the inspection date.  There was a mix up at the company, and the radon test was never delivered.  Pat had one on hand and the matter was resolved.  I was phoned by AmeriSpec with an apology about the mix up and a credit for that portion of the inspection.
I had a great experience with AmeriSpec and Pat provided a great service.  I definitely recommend giving them a call!

Work was performed professionally and punctually.

Mike did a fantastic job!  We showed up five minutes before our inspection and he was already on the roof checking things out.  He did a very good job at explaining everything and showing us things he was looking at.  He answered all our question and did a very thorough job.  The report was provided to us within hours of our appointment!  Would highly recommend.

The inspection process was a great experience overall. The inspector was thorough, professional, and very easy to talk to. He made sure I was a part of the inspection process all the while addressing any questions or concerns I had. The inspection was very informative and I received the report in a timely manner. I was under a bit of a deadline to get the inspection scheduled on short notice, and they worked with me to ensure I was able to keep my schedule.

We were trying to get a Radon test done quickly and the first guy we called was not responding to our calls or emails.  We found AmeriSpec on Angie's List and gave them a call.  They were able to work with our agent to get the Radon detector placed the next day (a Saturday).  They picked the test up Monday.  There was some snafu with the emailed results and we never got them.  We called and they quickly looked into things for us.  They resent the results and refunded us the $145 and apologized.  This is my go-to company from now on for inspections and Radon testing.  Tell your friends.
