Steve did a marvelous job from start to finish. While we had previously chosen our colors, Steve gave us additional suggestions which proved to be very insightful. By the wisdom of his guidance, we made a few changes to our color scheme and with the completion of the work we are daily relieved to have made the suggested changes. Clearly the competence he brings to the job is well beyond the work of putting paint on the walls.
Another issue we faced was the removal of two layers of wall-paper and glue. This is very labor intensive work and he took great care to keep the cost down while constantly advising us of the cost to date (the painting estimate was a fixed price with a per hour rate for stripping wall paper).
The work proceeded in a timely fashion staying on schedule and prompt attention was given to our questions or concerns. Steve was patient with our every question and thorough in his explanations making sure we understood every step of the process. He was completely trustworthy and we had every confidence in giving him a key to our house so he could come and go in our absence. In all aspects he was completely reliable. The work was completed with excellence down to every detail. He was clean during the course of his work and in its completion. His work was excellent, his advice right on the mark, and he was fully accountable. Truly a profession. You can hire him with confidence.

I contacted Steve Hartaub to ask for a quote on exterior caulking and staining of our home. When he came I also asked to have him include an interior guest bathroom plus a couple of touch-ups in the living room. He gave me the quote within ten minutes. I asked him to then do the work. I paid half of the quote so that he could get the materials to start the job.
When the weather was finally conducive for staining, Steve called telling me when he would be at my house to work. He was prompt and kept me in the loop throughout the job. His expertise really paid off for us! We have two different types of wood siding on our home as we had to repair/replace some siding due to hail damage about five years ago. The newer siding is a bit rougher. He adjusted his brush technique to accomodate the difference. It looks great! And even! He has also advised that we re-stain the weather side of the house in about three years. He stained the lattice work under our wrap-around porch with minimal mess. Again, it looks great!
When it came time to paint the interior bathroom, he took out the fixtures himself and took the time to prep appropriately to protect the wood trim in the bathroom. Steve can really do a fantastic job at cutting in a ceiling line! My husband and I are both very impressed! Steve was the one who suggested the color after talking to me, finding out why I didn't like the old color. He wanted to know what I wanted to achieve with that bathroom. I am very happy with the results! Steve has a very keen eye for color, and is confident enough to advise against a colorway if he believed it wouldn't work.
The touch-up work is seamless; we are pleased. It was with great satisfaction and thankfulness for a job well done that we gave Steve his final payment for the work. We have definitely recommended him to our friends if they needed painting services.
