Great group of veterinarians. Extremely helpful and knowledgable. Dr. Peterson,in particular, has gone above and beyond, helping with my golden retrievers's new diagnosis of epilepsy, consulting with the UW Vet School. Friendly staff. I never feel like they are price gouging or taking financial advantage of me as a dedicated pet owner. Professional, highly competent, incredibly nice and empathetic. I recommend this group the highest possible.

I have seen all three doctors and I recommend all of them. The doctors are all very friendly and they explain each exam and diagnostic finding clearly. I never feel like I am being talked into doing things that are not necessary, just to increase profits. The prices are fantastic! As a veterinarian, I am fully aware how much it costs to run a vet clinic and I really feel that the prices at A Breed Apart are unbeatable.

We had to make one of those hard decisions to put our 19 yr old cat down. We decided that we would have her put down at home. We called and asked if they would do such a service and found out they would. We planned a future date that worked for both of us. On said date Dr. Kate and her assistant arrived at our home. Not knowing how this will all go, she slowed us down and gently explained to us what was going to happen and what we would experience with this process. Dr. Kate and her assistant were very kind and compassionate througout the whole process. You can tell they really love animals. It is such a hard decision to make and then go through. We are truly grateful for their kindness and compassionate in this difficult time. I would highly recommend her for any of your pets for their health needs. The bill came over a month later which I thought was classy when you are paying for a family members death.

Absolutely love this place! My family has been using A Breed Apart since they opened, and Dr. Claudia has always been there for all of our pets. The price is one of the fairest I've seen in the area, and Claudia and Julie are some of the nicest people I've ever met. I've recommended them to many a friend, and everyone I've recommended has told me they felt the same way about this place.

I have been taking my dogs to ABA for 16 years and have had 5 dogs over that time. We have seen all 3 vets although I generally choose a primary vet. They explain things thoroughly and are never resistant to a decision to get a second opinion or extra diagnostic help from the UW Vet school. Most recently, Dr. Kate Peterson has spent the past year helping me navigate the ups and downs of my older dog's declining health. When she had a major setback dr. Kate offered to come in on her day off to put her down. It was very peaceful and she cared for our family as well as our dog. I continue to take my young dog there.

I have been a client of A Breed Apart for 6+ years and have used all 3 vets with great satisfaction. They were recommended to me by a friend, and I have recommended them to others, many times.

All the vets and staff at A Breed Apart are very accessible, empathetic, and professional; they treat your pet as if it were their own.
They also do their own emergency work. It is very comforting to know that in a stressful situation, your pet (and you) will see someone you know rather than a stranger who doesn't already know your story.
When one of my dogs was very sick, Dr Meyers clearly explained his lung x rays to me; when it was time to put him down (several months later), she showed me the earlier and later xrays so I could see and make a good decision based on his condition.
The clinic is not fancy, but I find that a good thing. Also, all the vets are in and out of the examining rooms and up at the front desk instead of hidden away. The whole staff works well together and it's a pleasure to take our pets there.

Kate Peterson is my vet. She's really good. I really like her. My dog is an English Mocker. I'm a nurse and she doesn't talk down to me. She and I were discussing about my dog. I got some medicines because my dog had ETI. I called up and took her in and she gave me some medicines for that. She gave me $7 medicine for that. $14.75 was for an exam for the ear and $7.75 for another medicine that I got from her as it was like a double problem. She's very loving to my dog. She'll hold her and be real nice to her and everything like that. She'll talk to me about things and how to help her if I've got problems. She's just a nice person. She really is a very knowledgeable and a nice person. She would be somebody that I would go to, to get treated for common ailment, but if I needed to go to a specialist, I would go down to another place. That's where I went before with my dog that had kidney problems. I think she tries to keep the price down.

At my first appointment with Kate Washabaugh, she was both professional and personal in her manner, She explained very well the possible diseases that my cat could have and outlined a stages series of tests to diagnose. As it happened, only the blood test was necessary. She was patient with my know-it-all pronouncements based on what I had found on the web. She called back the next morning with test results, which were unfortunately bad news. I decided to have the cat euthanized, and she did this a few days later with, once again, great professionalism and sensitivity. She followed up with a card a few days later.
I highly recommend Kate and will definitely be returning in future with my pets!

The vets here are fantastic. Dr. Washabaugh is a great vet, she explains things thoroughly and clearly. We have taken our cats here for the past three years and have always been happy with them.

I can't say enough good about how pleased we have been with Drs. Meyer, Peterson and Washabaugh. All three women are kind, gentle and patient. We tend to ask a lot of questions, and they all have been more than willing to explain things to us a couple of times if we didn't understand from the start. They always give us options, and they never "tell" us what we need to do, but will make suggestions. We currently are dealing with the potential loos of our beloved golden retriever to cancer, and all the related issues that have come up have been treated with understanding, care, and respect for both us and our dog. The ladies who assist and run the front desk are all equally kind and encouraging. Between the three vets, there is a wealth of knowledge, and we know that our animals are in great hands! We also love that they will get down on hands and knees to give our animals some extra TLC and scritches - they obviously love their jobs - and the animals!

I have never had a bad experience at this veterinarian over many years of service. They are always accommodating and quick to get the pets in and provide very compassionate care. When my pre-teen children attend, they direct teaching to them when they express interest. I never feel like their prices are exorbitant.
