We would use La Crosse Movers again!

Without knowing who to call, I spent a week researching different companies. It basically came down to who would be the first to respond, and who would be available with a four day notice. The second runner up was Coulee Region Moving Services. However, the La Crosse Movers took the gold. Plus, they were the most professional over the phone (Eric’s Moving stuck to text messages. I actually received one at 7:59pm. Yikes!). The La Crosse Movers (LCM) arrived on time. Their appearance made a very good first impression. I wish I could remember both of there names, however, Donovan (may not be the right name, or, spelling) was wearing black pants, and a LCM company shirt. Eric was wearing khaki pants and a button up shirt. They both greeted me with respect and professionalism. At that moment I knew I picked the right guys. During the move they made a stop along the route to pick up a large 1940’s study desk, which weighed over one hundred and twenty-five pounds. Taking their time, they were able to maneuver it pass two back-to-back 90 degree turns through a hallway that was barely wide enough, down a flight of stairs, and over a banister without damages to the desk or the building. At the end, everything was where I wanted it, without damages to my house or my belongings. Plus, I know it’s subjective, but it was two hundred dollars less than what I expected. Also, this may sound insignificant, but it was nice for them to accept a check. Overall, it would be pretty hard to take the gold away from these guys. The only complaint I have is they weren’t free of charge; otherwise, there are none. Thanks guys!!

The movers were friendly, took a bit longer than expected.
Response from La Crosse Movers
"Fake! By all accounts this is a made up review. No record of name or address ever done by our business, maybe we were mistaken for another company. If not, "(member name removed)?", please call or email us with any criticisms as we are always working to improve our quality of work."

The move was complex as to timing. Movers had one truck and two men at each house at the same time; they efficiently and speedily emptied both houses (208 21st Pl S, 8 rooms plus basement and 1610 Hayes St., 5 rooms, garage and basement), switched locations and delivered households in due time. They were courteous and caring. Movers completed the task they were hired for.

La Crosse Movers did an excellent job. They were on time, pleasant and accomplished the move in only 5 hours.
Please accept my recommendation for their services.

I had a last minute change of plans and needed help moving. I contacted several movers in the area and heard back from three. Of those three, LaCrosse Movers was the only company who was willing to work with my schedule and had the best prices. The movers showed up promptly, and got to work right away. I had several large objects and they moved them quickly. Upon getting to my new home they assisted me in placing things in the correct rooms and set up some of my new furniture.
A few years ago I had a very simular move and spent over $1,000. The service I received from that move was nowhere near as good as I had with La Crosse Movers. I highly recomend.

The movers showed up fairly promptly, which I was happy about and they laid down mats on the floors to protect them from the snow which I also appreciated. The quickly moved our things out of our old place and into their truck, but argued about taking a few things because they weren't on the and quot;list.and quot; This confused my husband and I because we had never provided them with a list anytime that we spoke with them.
We got to Sparta and the movers began unloading things and were very helpful in placing things were I requested they went. One of the movers complained that this was their second house move and how tired he was. I thought this was incredibly unprofessional and he really gave off the attitude that he really wished he wasn't there. In light of his revelations, I started asking them to just place things in the living rooms to help quicken the process. They tried moving our box springs up the stairs and after a couple of seconds trying, stated that they could not be moved up there and we would have to get queen split box springs, rather than just a queen. This house was built in the 20s, so the stairway is narrow, but the previous owners had a queen up there, so I thought it would be a problem. The movers are the professionals and in the past, all the movers I have had have gone to great lengths to make things fit. I told them I didn't care about them scratching the paint on the walls (since we're painting soon, anyways) or scuffing the box springs, so they tried once more and then gave up. I was really disappointed, but I trusted them to have done their best. The next day a friend of mine came over and her and my husband were able to get the box spring upstairs EASILY and with very little maneuvering. This really strengthened my opinion that the movers simply didn't want to be there.

I was completely satisfied. The reduction in stress that I feel having the mess in the garage cleared up was well worth the cost.

The heat index that day was 114 degrees! It was miserably hot, but the three guys were pleasant and worked hard in spite of the heat. I hired them for three hours but it took almost five hours. That was my underestimation of the job, not the speed of their work. They were fast and knew how to move items safely and efficiently. The guys were also well-mannered and personable and it was a pleasure to have them around. When it came time to drive to the new house, I led with my car and they followed in the truck. They drove very carefully, below the speed limit, which I appreciated considering all my worldly possessions were in that truck!

I had heard about them from a friend and figured I would give them a call. Being I had moved twice before with Bekins and Two Men and a Truck, both in Madison, I had an idea what it would cost. I called and spoke to a guy who was very nice. We set up a date to discuss the cost and estimated time. He explained that all charges were included which sounded nice and figured out a good estimate on charges. The day came and the guys showed up right on time. They both politely introduced themselves and wasted no time getting to work. I was initially concerned being one of them wasn't a very big guy, but they both handled my couch and furniture without problem. Before long, they were loaded and ready to go. The moving into the house was just as easy and they were finished in no time at all. We settled the bill and they guys cleaned up their stuff and went on their way. I later called to see if they had seen a hat I couldn't initially find but didn't hear back until the next day and by that time I had already found it. It was a very nice experience and was much less expensive and far more friendlier than my previous moves. I recently looked them up again to schedule my upcoming move and saw they had a bad review and wanted to make my voice heard. Both my friend and I had great experiences with these guys and have suggested them to several other people.

I should have googled reviews of this company and I would of seen the review given to them on Yelp.com
The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was pleasant enough and seemed express genuine interest over my many questions and concerns. E-mails were exchanged to that effect and a date was set for the move. The first red flag was seeing the “Budget Rental Truck” back into our driveway. This I was told was to “keep the miles low” on the companies own trucks. After a few hours as the truck began to fill I began to come to the realization that…gee it doesn’t appear everything is going to fit. The same size truck another company that had previously moved us to this address had either shrunk or our stuff had gained some weight over the last few years.
After everything was unloaded at the new location we discovered the first of a few damaged items. I fully understand that things can and will happen during any move regardless if its friends or professionals. We soon discovered a slew of other issues and have learned a valuable lesson. The company has no and quot;realand quot; address but does have P.O. box. All red flags I should not have missed. College aged kids and a Hertz rental truck does not always mean “legit moving company”the

Response from La Crosse Movers
"We do our best to make every customer happy but sometimes things don't work out perfectly. Along with several of our own trucks, we do sometimes lease to make sure we have the newest and nicest options at our disposal. Also, we sometimes handle setting up jobs by phone or email and often not enough information is given to describe the job itself. In this case the customer thought it could all be handled in a small truck but we brought the largest in town truck just in case. It filled the entire truck and then some. The extra that was not able to fit was moved free of charge after the initial move as we took responsibility for not inquiring what was to be moved in great detail. As far as damages, there was a mattress that should have been protected in a bag, that was cleaned of dirt and the TV with INTERNAL damage, that may or may not have been working before hand, was covered above and beyond the insurance level and a few other questionable damages. Besides the fact that the customer's check bounced, the customer was given extra labor, a discount on the initial trip time and refunded money for a job that would have cost him two to three times as much with another company, that wouldn't have covered any internal issues on a TV and would have gladly charged for the extra trip. This issue was handled with the better business bureau and the company was found to have exceeded its side of the agreement. We sincerely apologize for not meeting the customers full expectations and would welcome the opportunity to work with the customer again, at a discounted rate like we give all of our great repeat customers. Thanks for your time and help, Ben Keleny La Crosse Movers"
