I called Wisconsin Fuel on Sunday evening January 6th because I noticed my furnace was not running. The lady for the answering service asked me if I wanted an immediate service call which would be around $140 charge plus time and materials. I said no I could weather it out. I was surprised and delighted when I got a phone call a short time later from a technician. We tried a few trouble shooting things. I told him the furnace would engage for about 2 minutes after I turned it off and on. Sometime during the night the furnace started running again. I called Wisconsin Fuel back to tell them I still wanted them to come out but it wasn’t a no heat situation so they could take higher priority calls. The technician came out and gave my furnace a thorough going over but found nothing. The next night I noticed again that my furnace was not running. I called in the morning and another technician came out. He found the problem and explained the manufacturer of my particular furnace was known for this issue. It was water in a pressure switch. He cleared the water and recommended a new part. I asked how much the part was and he told me usually $25 to $100. I told him I would like the part replaced. Later that day I was called by someone from the office and told the part would be $122. I said ok. I was also told that the service call would be a continuation of service from the previous visits and would be in 15 minute increments. I said ok to that too. The technician was there in a few days and charged me for 30 minutes of time even though he was there for 10 minutes. I was told a service call was a minimum of 30 minutes. So, for not diagnosing the problem during the first service call and misrepresenting the cost of the final visit I would have to give them an average rating.

The technician got it working fine. He really knew his stuff.

They started the job and found that the refrigerant line has some blockage and provided an estimate for what it would cost to clear it. Due to the age of our unit, it would make more sense for us to get a new unit, and they recommended the same. They ultimately just charged us for an inspection.

Swimmingly. They have kept my old furnace chugging along beautifully for the past 6 years. They are so fair; they explain all the options; they are thorough and follow-up. They always give me warning about what problems are likely to crop up next. When I first called them for maintenance, I was a brand new homeowner and called them simply because they were the name on the furnace. I've never regretted it.

Overall things went very well and I am pleased with the work.  They are very prompt and professional and they sell and install quality products. The salesman was very nice and very knowledgable, he took time to explain all the fine details and did so without pressuring us to buy. They performed the job the very next day which I appreciated because it was cold outside. I think this is a very good provider and I would recommend them to my friends and family.

The office staff was very friendly. They were able to get me scheduled within three hours of my call. The office called to let me know when the technician would be arriving - which is important for me because I have dogs that I need to get out of the way for service calls. They were actually able to get to my house in only two hours. He diagnosed the problem very quickly. I am sure that they could have tried to replace parts (I have a very old furnace), but instead they were honest. They fixed the problem very quickly (less than 20 minutes total for the entire visit). I could not believe how affordable and fast they were. I don't typically write a lot of reviews but when I get service this good, I feel it is important to let people know that it is a great company.

The condos in my building have baseboard heat supplied by a central water heating furnace. The zone valve for my condo started to fail in the Winter of 2013. By November of 2014 the valve completely failed. I purchased a replacement via Amazon and set up an appointment with Wisconsin Fuel Heating & Cooling later that month to have it installed. Until then, I set the valve to be fully opened to make sure I had heat. On the day of my appointment, the vendor was prompt and friendly. We had to hunch over to go into a crawlspace in the basement of my building to get access to my zone valve. My valve was right up against a cinderblock wall which made things more cramped for us. Taking the original valve off was a breeze for the vendor. Installing the new one took some time since we could not fully get the water to stop. He got it down to a slow drip. I had to lift the feed pipe to the valve a bit in order to keep the water from preventing a water tight seal while he soldered. He finally got the pipe sealed after three attempts and wired everything up. He also suggested that the shut off valve to my unit (along with several others) needed to be updated as someone else had already done for their unit. Since the vendor installed a zone valve I had already purchased, I only paid for labor. The new zone valve works great with the new thermostat and there has been no problems since it was installed. I would definitely use Wisconsin Fuel Heating & Cooling again.

Overall our experience was very positive. They showed up on time, finished earlier than expected and were very professional. They helped my husband load the old furnace into his truck so we could scrap it. I would definitely recommend them.

The service was very good. They were very prompt. The workers were very nice. I would tell a friend that we had a good experience with them.
