The Roto-Rooter plumber was great and explained everything clearly. He fixed the issue and left everything neat and clean. The reason for the 4 star is they were supposed to call 30 mins before arrival. They showed up without calling and I had to rush home from work. The 4 stars is also due to sticker shock (no fault of the plumber). Original quote was $720 for a clogged drain. They knocked it down to $500 with only a 30 day warranty rather than 6 month. He found the clog at 35’ (10’ beyond my 25’ snake) in less than 20 mins. I now know I can get a 125’ power snake with all the different pipe size attachments for $300. I do appreciate the promptness of Roto Rooter, ease of scheduling, and fixing the issue right away, but I will invest in my own 100’ snake before spending $500 for 20 mins of labor (not including their travel). Thanks Roto Rooter for jumping on this and fixing the issue in less than 24 hours after contacting you.

The phone number listed takes you to a corporate number, then your transferred to a rep in your area. I needed service through a homeowners insurance policy. The franchise does not accept third party payment. I could not hire. FYI to those who need this type of payment service.

Giovann, Technician #2910, arrived within the time window, assessed the situation and got to work. He was knowledgeable, professional and friendly; and he was able to clear out the sewer line in a reasonable amount of time. Pretty stress-free, considering. Roto-Rooter charges a flat fee for service, no matter what time of day or whether weekend work is involved, so their fees may work out higher than normal weekday service that doesn't require extra time. But it's reasonable if you don't want to wait.

Jestin (tech 2623) has been my tech twice now and I have nothing but great things to say about him and his work.

He told us about discounts and the ability to receive incentives and a warrantee for services. He even went above and beyond telling us we had the incorrect sizing pipe cover when this has been done for years by the homeowner and no other provider had ever told
before that it was needed. 

Danny cleared two blockages in the main sewer line.
Greg returned the next day to scope the line.  We wanted to try to locate the repeating line problems.
Both Techs were excellent and very professional.

Was able to schedule appointment with Roto Rooter in a short period of time.  Plumber arrived on time as scheduled and work completed in a short period of time.  When removing the toilet from my house water leaked out of the toilet onto my carpet.  Felt plumber could have put down something on the floor to prevent spells on the carpet.  Also, after he was finished I noticed two new items in the tank area.  I had to advise the plumber they were there.

Started with a sewage backup in the house. With a large family we were desperate and started calling multiple local plumbing companies in our area figuring we would get faster service locally. Messages were left on answering machines and after many hours not one return call. Starting to panic when my wife remembered that we had used Roto-Rooter once before quite some time ago and were pleased with the results. The call was made and someone actually answered. A promise was made that a service technician would be onsite within the hour. Fifty minutes later the doorbell rang and there stood Mr. Roto-Rooter. Mr. Roto-Rooters name was actually Dennis and he could not have been more professional. Everything he was going to do was explained in detail beforehand and the work of finding the blockage began. The blockage was eventually located near the main sewer connection at the front of the house and Denny was able to punch a hole through the muck which allowed the backlog of sewerage to recede. After the lines were drained Denny explained that he wanted to open the main sewer cleanout to make sure everything was clear. Here is where the fun really started. The cap was taken off and the real problem was immediately apparent. The connection to the municipal line just on  the outside of the house had failed and caved in causing the blockage. The drain auger had punched a hole through the clay allowing the system to drain but Denny explained that as soon as the auger was pulled back out the system would be clogged again. The only answer to the problem was to have a crew dig down on the outside of the house and replace the failed connection. By now it is around 5 PM and I started to panic again thinking that there was no way a crew would be available at this hour. Denny's supervisor Greg arrived on scene, reviewed what had been done and made sure I understood everything. Greg was just as friendly and professional as Denny. I agreed to the contract price and Greg made a call to see if he could get a crew together at this late hour. Within two hours Matt arrived with the heavy equipment and work was started. After 10 PM the digging was finished and a temporary repair made allowing us to use the facilities during the night. As promised, Matt returned early the next morning to make the permanent repair, fill in the huge hole and clean up the work area..

Every one of the employees that I met were friendly, professional and took the time to make sure I understood everything that was happening. The areas inside the house that had been worked around were cleaned and wiped down with a disinfectant.

Bottom line is while I am not very happy about the unanticipated expense I could not be more delighted with the entire Roto-Rooter experience.

They were very good.  They were on-time.  They did a good job.
