BARENGO'S HEATING & RFRGRTN

The owner has come out on two occasions once for the home inspection and the second time for the price quote.  He provided valuable feedback each time, he leaves the decision with you but gives you his experenced view on the best choice.  I full appreciated his views prior to home purchase.  The most recent visit was for a routine cleaning/service call prior to the winter season.  This time one of the technicians came to the house, he was professional and provided feedback to me how to service my unit between service calls to maintain efficiency.  They do not stock filters on the truck due to large variety of filters, but provided advise where to purchase them and showed me how to install each filter (humidifier and furnace).

Barengo's has been servicing my 20 year old Carrier HVAC system for ~ 6 years. Could always count on a quick response and getting it fixed. Finally time to get a new one. Barengo recommends Goodman. I did many hours of research on HVAC equipment and truthfully, you can get just as much bad as good reviews on any systems. I got pricing on 3 better (good, better, best) systems total. Lennox, American Standard, and Goodman.
Since Barengo has been a reliable supplier, I went with one of the brands they distribute, Goodman, which also was the lower price by $500. Total cost including extended warranty was slightly <$5000. Also, I had the good fortune to actually talk with 2 neighbors who had Goodman equipment installed in the last 2 years by Barengo's and they were positive reviews.
Work was completed in <1 day. Bob reviewed filter system and equipment operation. Area was clean after work completed. The Items worked as required on initial start ups. Quiet operation.
Time will tell more about product
Barengo submitted information necessary to Goodman for warranty rregistration.
Good overall experience.

Bob evaluated our old A/C system compressor and evaporator unit and
found that the outside compressor unit needed to be replaced. He was
very thorough in explaining how the systems work and what the outcome of
the test results might mean for us. After learning that the compressor was bad, he disconnected it from the system and pulled the upstairs evaporator into a vacuum for two weeks to be sure that there were no leaks.. This would save us money in the long run, and we appreciated him taking the time to properly test the system, versus just throwing in an all-new system and charging us a boatload of money. The cost of the project probably would have doubled if he hadn't done so.
Bob is knowledgeable, experienced, friendly, and most importantly - honest in his business practice. We'll definitely call them back when it comes time to service our furnace for the winter.

Prior to their arrival I had furnace area already opened and cleared out. Including taking off the furnace covers and having extra lighting available. They had a new thermocouple with them, the control switch had to be picked up elsewhere, and was brought back close to 7 Hours later. When the job was done I put everything back myself.
For the first visit I paid a check for 147.70, when they returned and put the 2nd piece on I paid 56.00 in cash.
So $203.70 for less than 50.00 worth of parts, and a wait for 7 Hrs, Not Right.

They called me, and asked if I was interested in a preventative maintenance/annual cleaning,(I had used them before, two years ago, when my furnace kept going off unexpectedly). The appointment was scheduled within the next week. The appointment was at 10, he arrived closer to 10:30. I was not home at the time, my adult son was here, and said the visit went well.

I love them! They responded to an emergency call about my air going out during a heat advisory. I explained how I had 2 children under the age of 2 that were crying because they were uncomfortable and they were here within an hour. They explained everything to us on how to optimize our furnace and air conditioning unit. We have been here for 3 years and my unit has never worked so good. My house even has better air flow. They are awesome and reasonable priced.
