JRB ELECTRIC

Had a generator installed in August of 2022, they did good work but communication is clearly not Jason's strong point. No support after the sale either. Coming up on our 1st yearly maintenance and can't get a hold of by phone and won't answer emails. Typical contractor..

They installed a Generator around September 2020. The Install seemed to go well. I contacted them about a yearly maintenance plan and they said they would get back to me to set up a schedule. Never heard from them. I talked to them via phone and text. I actually talked and texted with Ethan Berg himself. I also sent them an email June 2021, texted them September 2021, December 2021, and somewhere in between I actually spoke to them whereas they would put me on the schedule… and nothing… now it is 04/04/2022. I guess once they got their money they didn’t care. I finally contacted the Kohler customer service to get a recommendation of a company that services Kohler products. Once of the companies I contacted told me that JRB Electric never submitted the paper work to register our generator and it was not under warranty at this time because of it. They also said the transfer switch was also not under warranty since they never registered it.

These guys were great! 
After calling, they said they could be here in two days.  Bob was here promptly at 7am followed shortly thereafter by Jason.  First thing Bob did was put a drop cloth at the entry way to keep snow/dirt from getting in the house.  They dug right into their work, were very efficient, and knowledgeable.  All work was completed in 3.5 hours and the final cost was very acceptable for the work that was done.  Jason also recommend a certain replacement exhaust fan brand when we were discussing some more work I may want done at a later time.  Definitely will use JRB again.

Recommended by the previous owner of the house I purchased and did good work for that owner. I also had JRB install an over range microwave when I moved in. All the work was performed very well. JRB - owned/operated by Jason - provided useful feedback based on his knowledge regarding the breaker panel for me to make an informed decision. I had estimates by two other companies. One company wanted to charge me double Jason's quote for the same work and told me to dig up the buried electrical line to the house to "save me money," saying it would take two hours of labor. Jason said it would take five minutes and was nearly correct (he dug it out in 15 minutes). My only complaint with Jason is a lack of prompt response after the work. He forgot to install a whole house surge protector in the panel that I paid for and took a week to put it in even after I called multiple times, with no response. The light switch he installed turned out to be a remote, battery-operated switch. I wanted a hard line switch but did not specify, assuming a hard line would be installed, so I accept partial responsibility but he did not ask which I would prefer either. The light switch went bad after only a few months. After repeated emails, with only one response, Jason eventually showed up after six weeks to replace it as the battery had gone dead. Jason does excellent work but, on the other hand, he didn't get back to me in a timely manner when there were problems (even though minor), although they were eventually corrected by him.
