+ -1 moreAl, the owner was very negligent in returning my calls throughout this whole process. It took 2 mo. before the job was done. He lied about dropping off a written estimate before work was done. He lied about having talked to my neighbor before showing up to do the job. In fact he never talked to neighbor and they never talked to him about removing a stump. I left 3 messages to speak to owner after the job was done before he responded. When I explained to him my disatisfaction with no warning and wood left on my lawn, he was rude and lied about the fact that he told me he would check with neighbor if needed to drive on their lawn. He said they didn't need to drive on their lawn, but it was clear that they had as grass was all flattened and the neighbor was not happy. How did he think he would talk to the neighbor when he just showed up on a work day? He removed $50 from my bill and I sent him a check.
Description of Work: Large silver maple was cut down and removed from back yard. Worker showed up unnanounced and setting up equipment as I was leaving for work about 8 am. Owner was suppose to have dropped off a written estimate 10 days earlier and never did. I spoke to the owner that morning on worker's cell and he said he told me would bring the estimate when he did the job, not true. He told me he cleared it with my neighbor to drive on their lawn and that they wanted him to remove a stump in their front lawn. I agreed to let them do the job and went to work. Came home from work to find job done and firewood left on my lawn. I had previously asked him if they could leave some wood on a trailer that I was going to have there once he let me know when the job would be performed. Wood chips and dirt were filled in the stump hole when I had asked him to remove the stump grindings and not fill the hole.
