I recently moved into a new condo. There were several "finishing touches" that needed to be done. I contracted with Greg Prostek of Neo Dyne. He really LISTENED to what I wanted, and made some excellent suggestions. Greg and Charlie painted upstairs, remodeled my closet (I love it), put a beautiful back-splash in the kitchen, put up cabinets in the laundry room and finished the two undone walls in the garage. After seeing the quality of workmanship, I decided to have them finish off the basement - build a bathroom, bedroom, craft room and sitting area. I could not be more pleased with the outcome. Greg is a "detail oriented" person - a MUST in a contractor. He suggested French doors on the craft room - they look beautiful! Greg also found the perfect flooring for the basement. Both Greg and Charlie worked very hard, and kept me informed of what was happening at all times. Family and friends have all had VERY positive comments when they see the work that has been done. I highly recommend Neo Dyne!!

The owner Greg Prostek, was rarely on the job site. His worker, Charlie, did most of the work. Charlie made about a thousand trips up and down the stairs and spent time outside for reasons I could not understand. A normal workday lasted from around 9am to 2:30. Days and weeks would go by and nothing seemed to be getting done. The bathroom in the basement was finally finished, but the correct faucet was never put in and the shower continues to leak. Despite that, we had them do our master bathroom. Big mistake. It's still not finished and he decided he wasn't interested in finishing because I hired someone else for the third bathroom. He never gave us a written proposal (I should have insisted on that), but I don't think it would have made much of a difference. I gave him detailed written instructions on everything I expected like which walls to paint, pictures and sku numbers of the items I picked, etc. Here's a little of what happened... We were out of town for 5 weeks after the basement bathroom was done, during which time I believed that they would complete the master bathroom. Neighbors told me that demolition didn't even start for almost three weeks. When I got home, the only thing in the bathroom was the tub, tiles and the shower walls. The wrong sink was eventually put in, the painting was not correct, and a single bad tile was installed that should never have been used. I'm still waiting for the shower door. Greg was hired because I am friendly with his wife. Therefore, I didn't complain early on. I didn't want hard feelings to exist. I finally sent him an email voicing my concerns. Here's that original email... "Hi Greg, I'm not very good at confrontation and I don't like to hurt people's feelings, so I decided it was best to send you an email about my concerns. When I look back at the work you've done for me, I have to say that I've been a little disappointed in the timeliness of completion and the accuracy of delivering what we ordered. For example... - Wrong faucet in basement bath - The completion of the tile in the basement bath was delayed by over a week because you said it was special order, even though we said several times that there were tons of boxes of that tile in stock at the store. You acted like we were crazy. Finally, we convinced Charlie to go to Menards on Brown Deer Rd and there it was! - When we agreed on $13,000 for the basement, we naturally thought that included a shower door. Who would want a shower like that without a door? Water would definitely get all over the floor even with a shower curtain. Now you say we need to pay another $1500 for a shower door. - That shower really should have been right opening. It makes no sense to open from the left in that bathroom. - The correct master bath sink should have been ordered back in June. I was clear about the style and the color (I gave a printout showing both things clearly), yet you just pulled one from stock, when it was very easy to order the correct one. Now, should I have to pay for the wrong sink, plus the correct one? (When I told him that I was able to order the correct sink, even though he told me it wasn't available, he said that he would try to return the wrong sink so that I wouldn't have to pay for both of them.) - The master bath faucet is also incorrect. I understand that you couldn't find the one I ordered, but I should have been able to choose the new one. I really hate two-handled faucets. - The master bath ceiling and skylight should have been painted white, as per my instruction sheet. - The one odd tile above the tub should never have been put in. It stands out like a sore thumb. - I'm not sure why the master shower door is still not in. If it was ordered back in June, it should have been in by now. - Not really loving the color of the shower light cover and the vent cover. Not sure why you spray painted the old ones instead of replacing them. - The master vanity has a hole in the door because Charlie drilled the wrong side for the knob. That needs to be replaced. I will pay the remaining $1790.60 when the work is completed. I feel bad that this experience may cause hard feelings between you, Colleen and us, but I just don't have the patience and energy to begin another bathroom project with you. I hope you understand. I will see you tomorrow. Thanks,Suzie " He never once apologized for any of the delays or wrong orders. He acted like a defensive, immature child. He also never responded to my subsequent emails, and when I called him to inquire about finishing the job, he told me that he wasn't interested in coming back. So, I'm left with an unfinished bathroom. Fortunately, I found a great contractor, Ryan Seymour Custom Builders. Call them! They have done in three weeks, what Neodyne couldn't get done in three months, and it's beautiful!

We could not have been happier. Jeff & Charlie were the two primary professionals on-site doing the work. (They did not seem to mind our over-friendly dog and "she" misses their daily visits now that the job is done.) Greg P. was very patient with us and took things in stride. He has a "we can do that" attitude. In the middle of one of the 1st floor projects, my wife & i got a spur-of-the moment idea to change something. "Hey Greg, can this door be elemimated and make this a panty...." It was Not a problem.
Description of Work: Home addition,add-on. Added approx ~750 sq ft to the home. That included expanding the existing family room on the 1st floor of the home to a master bedroom with a walk-out deck to the 2nd floor. Gas fire place in both new rooms. New siding. New roof. (I wanted & got a metal roof on the back. I also wanted a got a new & wider cement driveway.)

The work is very close to getting over and the major skilled remodeling work has been completed. We couldn't be happier than we are. They did a high quality work and they are reliable. They address our questions and the concerns immediately. We had a very old house and it was a very challenging job. They are very comfortable with our dog because sometimes our dog is hyper with the strangers. This was very important to us because my wife and I both work full time and we couldn't be around the house during the work. We couldn't meet them every day but the main contractor prompted early everyday and explained the things very well to us.
Description of Work: Neo-Dyne is doing the home remodeling. They are doing the roofing, furnace, air conditioning and master bedroom. The project started in the first week of June.
