Highly recommend Mike, on-time, well-prepared, very thorough, utilized experience, technical expertise and proper tools/analytical devices for very detail oriented inspection. Report was generated and shared within hours of inspection, was well-organized and included pictures, description, recommendations and clearly classified each item as defect or maintenance/monitor. He was also very patient, understanding and offered insightful responses to our many questions and near constant inspection of his inspection. First time home buyer and nosy dad approved. To safeguard Mike's pricing structure I do not provide cost. His value proposition outweighs his cost and I have no reservations paying more than what he charged.

Michael Ford was the inspector. He arrived early, and did a complete and thorough job. He kept me informed and showed me the areas where he found issues, or areas for improvement. The report with photos was delivered promptly. I was so glad that I hired him - it was absolutely money well spent!

Mike was great. We received a quick response upon our original inquiry for service and were able to get inspection scheduled right away. Mike was on time and did a great job walking us through the property and educating us along the way. The final inspection report was very detailed; overall extremely happy with service that was provided.

Mike met my folks at the house (I am from out of town and moving to Milwaukee) and spent about three hours thoroughly going through every aspect of the home. He is very knowledgeable and was willing to explain everything he was seeing to them. He also was able to give his thoughts on what would need to be done to fix each of the problem areas. He was extremely helpful, prompt, and professional. I would refer to any and everyone interested in a home inspection. ALSO, I called him the next day after reading his 46 page report (which was in my email soon after the inspection) to discuss his findings and his recommendations. He took the time to pick apart the details for me, someone without a clue :) Again, highly recommended!

It went very well. We were very happy with Mike. He arrived early before the appointment time. He started doing the inspection when he arrived. By the time we arrived for the appointment, he had information to share with us. He took the time to explain everything thoroughly. I would highly recommend him.

We left a message for Mike with a few questions about the home inspection process and his availability. My wife and I are going through the buying process of our first home. Mike quickly returned our call, answered our questions and scheduled an appointment to do the home inspection. Mike arrived early and was already on the roof by the time we showed up. He was friendly, professional, thorough and methodical. He took the time to explain everything that he was doing and gave helpful hints/tips on items that he would fix/address even though they were more minor than anything else. He pointed out anything that wasn’t quite right and things that could potentially be an issue and offered his opinion on whether they were serious or things we should be concerned about. He also showed us how to use a lot of systems in the house and recommended small maintenance items that would keep the house problem free. The report contained everything (with pictures) that we had discussed during the inspection. It was delivered the same day and we were able to use items brought up in the report to negotiate a decent seller’s credit. For first time home buyers the home buying process is a little nerve wracking and Mike’s knowledge put us at ease that we were making a sound decision. Thanks, Mike!

Mike was very informative and helpful. He came with all the tools to get the job done, including moisture sensors, thermal imaging and more. In addition to the home inspection we had a Radon Test. He was able to get the radon testing equipment in several days before so everything was completed by the inspection date. I have used 2 other inspectors in the past and Cornerstone was the most professional and thorough. They also took time to look into some question about the home above the normal inspection.

Mike was very easy to work with and very professional. He returned my initial call promptly and got us in his schedule the same week. He arrived early and was working on the exterior when we got there. He walked us through the house and explained everything in a manner we could understand. I would HIGHLY recommend Cornerstone Home Inspection.  We met with Michael Ford (inspector) yesterday at the home we put an offer in on to have it inspected and to also complete the radon testing.
Mike showed up 30 mins early so he could do an external review of the house and get started right away. The fact that he was early and right down to business was very impressive. 
Our inspection took approximately 4 hours. Mike covered every aspect of the house in detail (climbed into the attic and showed us pictures of the trusses and insulation), commented on driveway, brick work, roof, deck, patio, siding, grading, all mechanicals, structural, electrical components. 
Mike also brought a lot of equpiment (levels, thermal camera, etc) that he used in the inspection. He not only buys the necessary equipment but since we asked about it, he told us that he takes the training on the thermal camera to use it appropriately.
Very thorough inspection.  Plus Mike is very reassuring to make sure he lets you ask any questions as he works.
He provides you with a binder with the WI Inspector code and the best thing is he can submit the final report to you electronically within a few hours after the inspection is over. This is such a plus.  The last inspector we had, we had to wait 3 days for the report, so instant information is great.  Plus Mike tells you any issues with the house as he goes so that there are no surprises when you get the report.
The radon test is also placed by Mike 48 hours prior to the expected end of the home inspection and the results can be downloaded right at the end of the inspection so you get your radon tests on site.  It is very impressive.
The report Mike provided us was 44 pages, very clear to read, included color photos and professionally done.
We are EXTREMELY SATISFIED with Cornerstone Home Inspection and will definitely use them in the future if we ever buy another home.

Mike is extremely thorough and spent a lot of time going through the house.  Compared to a previous inspector I had for another home, hands down Mike does a much more comprehensive and detailed job.  As he does the inspection he talks you through it room by room and takes the time to explain something which a homeowner may not immediately understand.  For a similar sized house my old inspector spent a little over an hour or so, Mike invested 3.5 hours and tested just about everything in the house.
His calls were prompt and he had the inspection report over to us within an hour.  Don't hesitate - an inspection is a small price to pay for a large purchase.  Mike is well worth the time and money.

Mike Ford did a very thorough job and was the consummate professional. I left a message to schedule an inspection and he called me back within half an hour. The day of the inspection, he showed up early to get a start on the outside of the home and was ready to show us what he had found by the time we got there. We had originally scheduled a radon inspection, but the home we are purchasing already had a radon monitoring system, so Mike pointed that out and let us know his radon inspection would not be needed if we didn't feel the need for it considering there was already a system in place.
Mike was very patient and explained his findings and how the house worked in great detail. He showed us how to operate and maintain the various equipment in the home, such as the water heater, water softener (my husband and I have never had one in our home before), etc., and even showed us that the furnace would need a new air filter and how to install it. He checked out every nook and cranny and gave us advice on the best way to fix the few minor issues we had and best practices to make sure they did not happen again in the future.
Our written inspection report was emailed to us within an hour after the completion of the inspection, and Mike even provided us with a nice binder to keep our records in, including information about the laws and regulations which oversee home inspections in Wisconsin.
We couldn't be more pleased. We feel very confident moving forward with the purchase of the home due to Mike's thorough inspection.

Michael Ford was absolutely, hands down the most professional person we had to deal with in our home purchasing process. He was on time and explained everything he was doing and what he was finding-whether it was good or bad. He answered all of my questions. His reports were professionally written and very easy to understand with photos included. He sent it to us in a timely fashion. Mike's work was exceptional and timely, he insured that we understood any of the findings and made sure all questions were asked. Additionally, Mike ensured that we understood how various items worked, such as the Aprilaire equipment. Mike also provided a timely report (within hours) of completion of the inspection (both home and radon). I would recommend Mike for both home and radon inspection.

I was completely satisfied with Mike's home inspection. Mike was very easy to work with. He answered all of my questions, and he took time to explain the things he had found. He also helped me understand how big a deal any potential problems were, what the impact on the house would be if I did or didn't fix these problems, and a general idea of the cost and what would be involved in fixing them. He was very thorough - both in the inspection itself, and in making sure I understood the things he was showing me.

Mike was absolutely thorough with the inspection, and pointed out many useful and relevant things during the inspection. He is generous with answering any questions, and asks up front if there are any particular questions or concerns - very easy to communicate with. I found him to be knowledgable and very thorough (which may not be to the delight of realtors...). I think he does a good job indicating what is truly an issue that needs attention versus an issue that he needs to mentioned technically speaking but may not need attention practically speaking. Also, he gives tips on how often certain components of the house needs to be evaluated (roof, furnace, etc).
He got the inspection report back to me later the same evening, and was thorough, often with pictures documenting his written comments.
To set up the appointment, I found it easiest to fill out his short questionaire on his website in the evening, and he e-mailed me back early the next morning. We had the date set later that day. You may not be able to get in touch with him right away if you call, because I do not think he takes calls during an inspection (which is a good thing when he is doing YOUR inspection). He is very responsive to email, and will check his phone message periodically throughout the day.

Very looking professional reports. Inspector missed nothing and took his time to do a great job.
