 + -1 moreJim first dropped off the materials for the job on a weekday, anticipating starting the work the next day. Due to problems with the building permit, the work had to be put off for a while. Because I am selling the house, I did not want materials piled in the driveway on weekends, and Jim was happy to come the next day and move everything into my garage. Jim thought he could do the work in two days, which was important to me since my house is being shown periodically. It ended up being done in one day because he had called in others to help on the job. I was thrilled. Jim was also great to work with during the process of getting a building permit and jumping through all the hoops the county sets up that frustrate homeowners. For example, the county wanted me to have my septic checked as part of OKing the roof repair! Jim was able to get the county to drop that requirement. I could not have found an easier person to work with and highly recommend him!
Description of Work: Jim repaired a valley in my roof that had sagged over the years due to snow build-up and a design flaw from when the house was built in 1966. I am selling my house and did not want the roof problem to scare away potential buyers. The work involved removing and replacing the front valley of the house. I also had a recurring leak in the corner ceiling of my kitchen. Many people had looked at it and tried to repair it with new chimney flashing, etc. Jim thought it might be a problem inside the chimney and it was. He found cracked areas in the flue and since he repaired them, there has been no problem. Jim does all kinds of indoor and outdoor repair and contracting. I wish I had known about him when I was having indoor repairs done over the years.
